I could not agree more to you on these changes that you mentioned. With the advent of new flagship release these days, I could not find a reason to upgrade that is because still it's a very competitive device. I was planning to upgrade to a new flagship but upon careful studies about the new devices carefully reading the reviews, there is no significant changes from the Note 5. Built quality wise, design, specs, camera, and among others. I am a very happy user. Perhaps if Note 8 will significantly beef up itself when it comes to specs and ergonomics, it will persuade me to buy the handset. I could not leave without an S Pen. A lot of friends would want to buy my device but certainly I could not just trade it for a newer device. I enjoyed the update making me feel that my phone is new. Thank you Samsung!

I have a note 5 and im having an issue right now since the update. Now my touch screen is unresponsive with touch.. i always use pen. I try to factory reset it, still the same, i try this method *#2663# but it say fail. When i see the tsw update it shows fail.
Do anyone knows how to fix this issue?

At first I was very hesitant to upgrade to Nougat 7 because of many negative feedback here but nevertheless decided to take the plunge, and it was a very good decision to do so. My Note 5 Duos now feels like a new smartphone with many new useful and cool features (I like that when taking screenshots there an option to scroll down for a bigger coverage area; also selfie in the camera now has a wide panorama option; availability to do split screens w/window size control; double click to quickly open previous app; night mode to go easy on the eyes, etc etc). With regards to battery, there's no fast drain on my unit at all - from 100% at night and waking up the next day, level goes down to around 95% - not bad at all (just close all apps before sleeping). In a way the Note 7 fiasco could be said to be a blessing for Note 5 owners because now I've installed two Nougat 7 updates already, something which would not have happened if the Note 7 was still around because as it is now, the Note 5 is the de facto flagship of Note series and Samsung is fully supportive with respect to software updates in a timely manner. Kudos to Samsung for looking out for Note 5 owners, I am one happy camper.

The Nougat update definitely is a wow. Puts more value to the handset since this was released still way back 2015. It feels like new. I was supposed to buy a new phone this year and is planning to buy the S8+ but deeply realized that there is no significant improvement at all that you can cite giving you that more reason to buy the new models these days. Hopefully the Note 8 will soon be launched giving me that reason to buy a new handset. Couldn't trade the S Pen feature for any other device.

After updating my Note 5 duos to Android Nougat 7.0, i no more see the ultra power saving mode in my phone. It was very much useful feature. Please bring it back.

Note 5 is a great device. I update nougat last month. It is a great experience. Battery timing and speed well than the previous version.

I have this phone for about one year and I didn't have any any problem with it.
all of the screen quality, performance, battery life, camera, network and etc are the best for this range.
I upgrade it to android 7 and didn't have problem with battery life or other things.

Does anyone have any idea about note 5 duos comes in 3gb ram and 5.1 inch screen configuration variant.is it the actual note 5 or just a hoax.. Someone has posted it online at a very cheaper rate with emi option also.

And why each time your updates creates problem for users, I am experiencing this since Galaxy S.

These apps were draining my battery like hell. Overnight my battery was draining from 85% to 38% in idle mode.

Some said nougat improves battery li... morei also have sm-n9208..i upgraded it to Nougat...Battery back is less ( almost 1hr) than Marshmallow..I would suggest you to stay with Marshmallow if you have not any problem. There is nothing special in Nougat...if you still want to update your phone then upgrade it via Odin tool..it will not upgrade phone bootloader. Hence ,you can go back to marshmallow if you have any problem with Nougat ...Always reset your phone ( before and after upgrading )for a best result...
