I think it would take a lot to do without Google's Android and right now it is a threat to even Microsoft as a mobile computing platform.

If Google plays fair and not sabotage OEMs by optimizing/favoring only their own hardware like Microsoft is trying to do these days, then I think Samsung has a very big future in the mobile phone business.

In the US we rarely saw bonus offers until just recently, probably because like everywhere else we are starting to pay for our devices in full instead of through discounted contracts so OEMs are trying to get buyers with gifts to offset sticker shock. At least the cases are cheaper than the SD+Wireless Pad or the Gear Camera. I've seen some N8+VR bundles on eBay but I'm not sure if the Gear VR is actually discounted with it.

As far as Tizen goes, I think Samsung would really have to make it stand out because right now it just seems like the ugly stepchild of SailfishOS with little to separate it from the pack. Supposedly Microsoft wants to help it get .Net support but I have no idea if that is an actual game changer long-term. The fact that they keep putting it on low spec devices like watches and budget phones probably means it's not yet optimized enough either.

Some of the US unboxings I've seen come with freebies like the Wireless Chargers BUT unfortunately no free casing (Xiaomi included one with the Mi Mix because of the fragile ceramic body) or a Samsung VR gear.

But all that can be forgiven just seeing the handset!

AnonD-197784, 06 Sep 2017http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mobile-accessories/phones/... moreBy the way, Samsung advertises fast wireless charging with the claim of 0 to full at "under 120 minutes". Even Samsung advertises the WIRED fast charging to charge 0 to full at "under "90 minutes".

                Misinformation is a sin.

AnonD-197784, 06 Sep 2017http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mobile-accessories/phones/... morePlease. No fast wireless charging has the capability to charge a 3000 mAh battery in "50 minutes" as you have originally claimed. You stop exaggerating.

Why would anybody want the single SIM model over the dual-SIM one, since the second slot can be optionally used for microSD? And even more: why is the single-SIM variant more expensive than the dual-SIM one?!

                                        - case in point - this guy " Technicalities" did a review of the Microsoft Surface Book and rated it "Mistake" after a few weeks the same guy gets on camera and calls the same model (i5 to i7) his "Only Trusted" and "Ultimate" laptop.

Lots of viewers noticed it and he didn't even mind.

So my point is you never know their angle in their review. That's why I prefer regular users posting videos of their real life experiences or confirmed owners reviews on Amazon or here on gsmarena. Easier for me that way.
