I've been a longtime use of Samsung flagships but their decision to adapt this garbage 18.5:9 aspect ratio makes me skip these phones and turn to other brands out there. the 18.5:9 aspect ratio is really bad when using multimedia like watching movies and videos, the images are cropped and looks so ugly. I really hate Samsung for taking this trash "innovation", I wont't be buying any of their flagships ever again till they realize their mistake and revert to 16:9. But people are so stupid to not realize this and keep buying their new garbage flagships

Will it come with that silly, unconfigurable Bixby key I wonder.
And what happened in the world since IR blasters are no longer worth the attention of phone manufacturers? New phones lacking this capability is one of the main reasons why I am keeping my Note 4. I can't count the times it has saved me from getting out of the couch because the kids put the remote somewhere else. Design over usability? I thought this was Apple's territory.

Jimmy, 20 Jun 2017Me and friends are not going to buy it if there will be non... moreMan let it go. Powerbanks and battery cases serve to replace the function that we lost with making the phones sealed and waterproof. There's no need for plug and play batteries that keep your phone as slim as virtually possible while changing cells. That is a vanity feature.
As someone who actually likes water around me I am personally much happier that I can get my fully waterproof phone out of the drink damage free when it slips and flies out a my hand provided I attach something to make it float.
I will agree with you that they should add a connector for the wire soldered onto the battery so that the dang things are safer (you could store it disconnected or it could spit out the connector on critical overheat) and the cell can be removed if you really need to without significant experience with soldering. Then in an actual emergency you could use a spare battery but it would take time to install.

AnonD-678569, 20 Jun 2017Very strange things batteries i still have a note 4 from re... moreHeavy usage heats up the device, like downloading, and I live in a tropical country. Heat is an enemy of batteries. Mine goes up to more than 41 degree Celsius at times. If you just do casual browsing, and don't do like 4GB data over LTE daily, you battery will last longer. All this I read.
Fast charging kills the battery faster as well. Putting in extra stresses will do that. If you don't do drainage use like below 50% before plugging in, the charging cycles will increase to more than the specified 500 cycles. If you want 2000 cycles (more than 6 years), plug in while the indicator is still about 80 to 90%. But who wants to plug in all the time?

My wife has an S5 she charges it every night and to this day it hasn't failed yet .
Now an other friend of ours who has an S6 did have a battery problem about 14 months after they got it they walk into the telstra shop had it sent away and it was back within the week with a brand new battery free of charge.
I dont have any issue with sealed batteries.

Yes, the Note8 will come with a sealed battery. It's a trend that the masses think is okay for showing off that you can dunk the device in a glass of water. So what.
Never in my 18 years use of cellphones had I needed water-resistance. Back glass premium? Nope. It's fragile, even Gorilla glass. It breaks, no matter what. I'd rather it be flexible plastic, like with the Note 4.
Note7 was my second sealed-battery device, first was the Note 8.0 (2013). I had the Note7 45 days till I was advised to return it. As I was used to using a Zerolemon 10,000 mAh extended battery that gives me the average 17-18 hours out-of-the-house usage, with the average 6 hours SOT, and there's usually over 40% left.
You can all see my 150 charging cycles here:
http://flic.kr/p/UbFY6i
With the Note7 Exynos which is suppose to be energy efficient, I had almost 13 hours estimated usage time till the battery is totally drained, offering UP TO 7 hours SOT if you go deep battery drain. You are NOT suppose to deep drain the battery as it will certainly accelerate it to die faster. So I'm averaging only about 5 hours SOT, and usually charge it up when it's about 30%.
You can all see my statistics here:
http://flic.kr/p/SVT5fX
And how much time do you need waste for charging during your waking hours? 1.5 hours. Over 4 hours if you go wireless charging and not use the device. This used to be just an iPhone user problem. They have to be stuck carrying chargers, and putting up with powerbanks, and dealing with charging cables everywhere.
How much time to change to a 100% powered spare battery? 90 seconds, from turning off, swapping, and boot time. 0 seconds wasted if you're using an extended battery, with it even extending to a second day without charging.

AnonD-677993, 17 Jun 2017A rather caustic, unwarranted, and uninformed comment, your... moreThat battery dies faster if you charge and discharge more frequently. The masses who think sealed batteries are so cool don't know better - they aren't aware about the fact these have only at least 300 charging cycles.
With having to interchange 3 batteries for my needs, the set only lasts me 18 months. That's using two full charges a day by swapping batteries. Zero charging waiting time. No bulky powerbank, or having the need to charge before going home.
Since my last OEM battery set all ballooned over a year ago, I'm now on my 2nd 10,000 mAh extended battery. That's roughly 500 charging cycles before the first extended battery started just giving some 60% of the original power capacity.

Just got a brand new note 5 for its specific fetures. Planing on buying a Note 8 only if the camera comes with a minimum of 16mpx and ois because this camera is very good and for many people resolution is important not matter how the dualpixel 12mpx performs. Tehnology is available and wont plan on spending any money if quality is lower than n5.

Imperator Neubaticus, 15 Jun 2017Lol at those obsessed with removale batteries. You're a dyi... moreA rather caustic, unwarranted, and uninformed comment, yours. My phone is in heavy use daily and an OEM battery lasts me less than a year and the charge in a new one barely lasts half a day. I'm therefore not "obsessing" over a changeable battery, but rather I genuinely require one. I really don't care about a phone being waterproof, as I have never in 25 years dropped a mobile phone into water or felt compelled to sweat on one in a gym, and see no benefit in that feature, especially not at the cost of not being able to easily change the battery.

Imperator Neubaticus, 15 Jun 2017Lol at those obsessed with removale batteries. You're a dyi... moreRight. Because you want manufacturers to make you into get their products yearly. I'd like a third-party higher capacity DIRECTLY POWERING the device.
Batteries only have 300-500 charging cycles. Just translates to a year of power efficiency. Even more so with having to charge twice in a day for heavier use. Why want that? Why even carry powerbanks to keep it charged up?
I had the Note7 for 45 days, only giving me 5 hours SOT per charge, and that's just via wifi. What more with LTE.
Meantime, I'm actually using on my 2nd 10,000 mAh extended battery that gives me all day heavy use of up to 4 GB data, over 8 hours SOT, with 40% left after over 17 hours out. This is even connected to 2 Bluetooth devices.
I believe the Note8 will come with a sealed battery. Sure. The fact is, it's less practical. The same amount of battery is used for consuming data connection, the same amount to power every app. Power saving while you don't use the device is pretty silly.
At least with a removable battery system, you get 100% back after a swap. Yeah, you're happy carrying a power bank.

Three things that can let me stay on android after 7 years
Note 8 have to have fast 4+ charging
Note 8 have to have finger print sensor on right place
Note 8 have to have working Bluetooth 5.0 and accessories for it
If the phone charges fast I don't care it's 3000mah or 4500mah
Finger print in the screen will be great if not need it in front then
Bluetooth tooth that not support 5.0 with s8 you lier no accessories you made for that
People ask for 4k resolution I don't think that's important
