It doesn't do any harm to the battery, it just performs a reset to the battery. It can make a difference for all kinds of issues with the battery/software combination. In my case the battery drained rapidly from 20% to 0% and made the phone to shut down. After a couple of resets, it performs much better now and I can een make a quick phonecall at 5% battery for example.

I contacted Samsung in a live chat,and they told that Note8 will receive Android 10. I hope it will be true news. Because I don't trust their representatives.
