The battery after the October patch is more or less still the same. From 30% to 0% doesn't go that rapidly anymore but I doubt that's because of the October patch.

Umair, 16 Oct 2019Is there any battery improvement? I have emailed to Samsun... moreI can't tell you yet because the phone was charging when it installed the update and haven't charged it since. It's on 35% now so let's see how the battery holds when it's under 30%.

Aadrian, 16 Oct 2019I received the October security patch on the phone. Is there any battery improvement?
I have emailed to Samsung Singapore and Samsung Pakistan but no satisfactory reply. They are just saying bring ur mobile to repair center despite i clearly told them that this has happened due to security patches since i bought the mobile. I also told them that i believe Samsung is playing dirty game of throttling so that people should discard their old mobiles and buy newer models....

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2019From where one can get new battery can you guide me?You have options:
1) If you bought your Note8 brand new less than 1 year ago in Europe (idk about elsewhere) from a Samsung authorised seller then the battery has 1 year warranty & the device 2 years.
2) If the 1 year warranty has expired, then you can get a genuine new battery replacement by a Samsung authorised repair technician with the IP68 still intact.
For my Note9 it's £60 & the battery & IP rating is guaranteed for 6 months which should will be long enough to identify any problem.
It'll be a bit extra if they come out to where you live or work, but it'll take less than 1hr.
Idk price for just the battery replacement on the Note8, I guess £50.
The Note8 Screen & battery replacement is max £219.
Details are on their website (>Product support, >Your Service, >Repair my product) or contact Samsung support.
For UK customers go to:
https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/repair/mobile-device/
3) You can replace your own battery (if you know what your doing) with a genuine or equivalent highest quality oem battery yourself for about £25 including the tool kit, (you'll probably lose any IP rating).
4) Or use a third party (I personally wouldn't unless I was there during the procedure) but make sure they use a brand new genuine or equivalent highest quality oem battery for about £35 (you'll probably lose any IP rating).

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2019Samsung note 8 or Samsung s10e?S10e as it's newer with better cameras which includes a wide angle camera which in my opinion is anytime better than telephoto lens on the note 8 & S10e will be getting more updates compared to note 8.

Lawka, 06 Oct 2019On a normal usage how long those the baterry last? What i have seen so far is drop to 42% battery from 100% in 2hrs 10min screen on time
But worryingly stand by drain in battery is too much without any 3g/4g ON it drops 6% in 5.5hrs and with 3g/4g on it drops too rapidly. If i see battery statistics then biggest drain after 1hr 40min screen time amounting 12%, the next percentage is of Android system 7% and Device idle 5% which i think is too much in total 11hrs 47min after charging 100%
