Tcool, 03 May 2014Excuse me, about the spare battery, do I need to go to the ... moreNo problem with charging anytime. Don't do deep battery drains. Best you switch to the fresh battery when you get 15%. You also disconnect from the charger once 100% is reached, or don't leave it plugged for hours.

I got myself power timers for avoiding such. I set it to only charge my Note 3 starting 3 hours before I get out of the house because my 2nd battery for the day reaches around 70% when I get home. I even set my cradle charger to be off after 3 hours of charging.

I do this to get the most of the batteries' optional lives. We all know that they will eventually lose some 20% capacity after some months later. The chemical composition inside the battery will lose some ability to hold a charge. By cycling with 2 or 3 different batteries, you get the best number of hours for a longer time than relying on the original battery.

My wife appreciates this with the two extra batteries with the Note II she inherited from me. She plays games unplugged without worrying about power. A lot of people don't realize this advantage of a removable battery system.

Heat is the number 1 enemy of a battery. Plugging in and playing a heavy graphics game is a bad idea.

Or 15% remaining will do to put it to charging cradle and recharge?
              Thank you.

I had Android 4.4.2 installed via Odin. 4.3 firmware was also downloaded just in case I need to revert back.

As I expected, no obvious changes. I can now install the Google Camera app with a blur capability. The stock keyboard seems to improved with whole word (instead of per letter) back key erasure and a dark background.

I have yet to see about the reported battery improvement. I lost root and plan to stick to the current to monitor this unadulterated version.

AnonD-170479, 02 May 2014I am not arguing that it can't do something, yes it can do ... moreEntry and mid-ranged specified Android devices can't compare with high end. If stability is what you expect, get at least a Galaxy Note 3. I haven't hard reset my Note 3 since I got it last December.

If smoothness is your thing, then you're just like an iPhone user who argue that iOS and iPhone are the best... without doing so much. You all get that illusion of smoothness because WP and iOS are true multi-tasking devices. And to think Windows is suppose to give you "windows" for multi screens to utilize the screen area.

Like WP, iOS is also "smooth" because it closes other apps you just recently used. I believe this is the reason why iOS7 was crashing because Apple tried multitasking, for example - apps being updated on the background while you browse. The system wasn't designed with that tiny RAM size. When an app crashes, it just brings you to the home screen without even the courtesy of informing you - that's iOS.

Can you download torrents CONTINUOUSLY WITHOUT it being closed when you switch to another app? No, you can't. That's the limitation odd an OS not designed for multi-tasking. Keep thinking 512MB or 1GB is enough. Fact is, that saves the manufacturer cost for a higher RAM size. I predict Apple will install 2GB RAM on their next iPhone.

The original OS that Google issues isn't optimized for the Galaxy Note. Features like air command and S Pen related apps aren't there. A different algorithm for the battery usage is also in place to highly optimize power. Google Nexus doesn't give more features and a usage time as long as the Note 3. Its a mid-ranged smartphone. It doesn't even have a removable battery or has a memory expansion. I know someone who uses it, and the actual experience is Nexus 5 needs to be charged before going home from the office.

Have YOU used a Galaxy Note 3 for more than a day? Or at least tested one? As far as we ACTUAL users are concerned, we are enjoying a "smooth" operation.

Can you find one tech review link that says otherwise?

I use LG G pro (used for 5+ months) and till today I've not done any reset and ive never for once experienced any form of lag. I also use Lumia 720 and I will tell you that it doesnt come close to my G Pro in terms of smoothness so I guess you are talking about only samsung phones but if u generalize it, then you are wrong.

TheNeighbor, 29 Apr 2014Who are you to say that Android is "not a proper mobil... moreI am not arguing that it can't do something, yes it can do more than what is required in a smart phone but can it do it better than iOS and WP?

The problem is that it doesn't have consistent performance like iOS and WP also I am sick of Android for being very unstable same story with every Samsung Galaxy and most Android phones except Google Nexus series. I have Android since 2 months and I had reset my phone more than 8 times before this I used WP for 3 months and trust me I didn't reset that even once though I had 22 GB of total apps installed on that.

Second problem is that WP is smooth even on 1 Ghz Dual core with 512 MB Ram while Android is not smooth on 2 Ghz Quad Core with 2 GB of Ram.

I would have been very satisfied with Samsung Galaxy if they use Pure Android just like used in Google Nexus so far they are the best Android phones till yet and extremely stable. I am upset looking at Samsung wasting their resources while they have the best hardware but its software have ruined all of it.
