If you referring a geek as passionate individuals about something, then that's a compliment. I'm also a geek in watercolor, architecture and digital art. You don't need to be a geek about knowing what's practical about changeable batteries.

Wait. Chargers? What happened to your speech about power banks? Oh, I see what you're trying to do now...

It's about more options. With a fixed battery, you either don't use the device often, charge to a wall plug when you see one, or carry that bulgy power bank. A removable battery gives you another option. A Note 3 has an 8.3mm body thickness. No point arguing that that's thick. We've all heard about that teenager bending the 9mm thick iPhone 5c placed behind her jeans that caused the battery to short-circuit,exploded and she got 2nd degree burns. A thinner body would further increase that danger of battery explosions. Teach statistics show 10% of batteries are unstable. At least a removable battery pops out when extreme bending occurs.

As a non-Note user, what are YOU doing here?

I'm here because:
1. To share my actual experience of the Note 3 with fellow users.
2. To hear features of the device I might not have discovered.
3. To clarify truths, and discredit non-Note 3 users(like you) from spreading their untruthful and non-existent experience of the Note 3.

Your only common reaction is I'm a an employed Samsung commentator. Gee, you mean I can get paid for doing this? And the reason why I'm able to keep up is a spare battery. No wires. No extra weight of a power bank, and no extra bulge in my pocket.

    And I say people need to know they can use technology better than carrying power banks or the chargers they could leave behind.

    The last time I checked, this was a Samsung page, and Samsung produce smartphones with removable batteries, with a choice to get a spare battery.

        But now, Apple is replicating user gesture interface menus, animated backgrounds, plastic colored bodies, smart watch, screen sizes.

            My job requires me to be on the move, and the removable battery really is convenient than plugging in to a power bank. Here's my Note 3 battery stat for this afternoon after 10H57M of operation time. My activities include some browsing, email, calls, text, taking pictures, writing notes on the S Note, Youtube and with background apps running like E Security, Cerberus.

            Mt signal is auto, switching on LTE and 3G most of the time. My screen time came to 5H:39M till it hit 0%. I plugged in with the office PC so I could take screen shots of the battery stats.

            This is what you can expect a usage combo for the Note 3 - close to 6 hours of screen time or even more at times; in about 11 to 12 hours span for the day. This is heavy internet with using my data service to tether my laptop for an hour or two.

            If I was still out, I wouldn't want walking around keeping my smartphone power afloat with a USB cord sticking out onto a power bank bulged in my pocket. A removable battery is more practical and thin. Just look at the difference of thickness:

            That's only 9mm of thickness with the battery case on, versus 15 to 22mm thickness of a power bank. I don't usually carry a bag anymore, and rarely carry my 3KG+ laptop along.

            Power banks are inefficient considering that the maximum capacity would only account about 70% of actual power transferred to your smartphone's battery. You'd have to take into account that lithium ion batteries will lose 20% of power hold after a few hundred cycles or about 6 months later. So, you'd need something like a 7,000mAh capacity power bank. They don't come in small packages, and the slimmer ones are way expensive, double the cost of an extra battery + cradle charger set. You need at least more than 2 hours to regain the full charge of the Note 3 battery.

            Changing to a fresh battery takes less than 60 seconds, and you can charge the spent one at home on the cradle charger while you sleep.

SUDHAKAR, 11 Feb 2014Samsung phones are better than all lumia phones only becaus... more'Not only due to replaceable battery', there are many more reasons why Android are better than windows for that you have to use both, I am using Lumia 920 and Note 3 and I am using the windows phone as my secondary phone just for calling purposes.

                            Samsung phones are better than all lumia phones only because of user replaceable battery and availablility of memory card slot in all the Samsung phones (and FM radio in some Samsung high end phones).

                              Also the battery draining is not as much, i love the battery life of this phone.

                              My friend has a note 2. Its the same, infact a little better, lasts for 1 entire day with heavy usage and 1.5 to 2 days with moderate usage ...
