The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in general could be a very nice device, if there wouldn’t be the annoying “Index Service has stopped”-issue (details through googling “Note3 IndexService issue”), which is seriously slowing down the performance and even freezing my Note3 for some moments; in fact for the time being it makes the unit almost unusable for me.
This problem already stole me quite some time trying to overcome and searching for a fix. So far SAMSUNG did not offer a firmware update, which is fixing the issue, or any solution I am aware of.
Still waiting, and all this for one of their flagship devices!

You need to accept that just because you don't need a certain feature doesn't mean that other people don't need or want it. You sound like an apple executive.

Hey good people, I am thinking to buy this phone as my gaming device, well.. I am a technically heavy gamer. Literally my phone will not receive calls/sms maybe sometimes, but its mainly for gaming. How would the battery life be? Or am I just better off with a standalone gaming console like the Nvidia Shield? Share your opinions guys, I will be glad to hear it. Thanks alot.

Chipset,CPU & GPU are the main reason that will annihilate note 3. Ask s4 what happened? more power assassin the phone. it's flashy plastic I won't buy. iphone 5s is much better

When the RAM is running low the Note 3 uses the Low Memory Killer (LMK) to free memory by closing apps from the least recently used (LRU) list.
If you clear the RAM you should be lower than 1.98GB but it fills up quickly. If i go to the app manager and clear RAM in the RAM tab i am using 1.33GB. This is all the default apps and OS which means they still open quickly.
This means that the Note 3 is simply making the most of the 3GB RAM (actually only 2.38GB) to keep as many apps open as possible for quick opening. It won't actually slow your phone by having a nearly full RAM as the Note 3 will automatically close apps as required.
