Luv my Samsung Galexy Note 8. I have been using it for a number of years. No problems. Mine runs about 50'C. I use software from time to time to cool it. The battery? I can get two days out of it with fairly heavy use. I carry a little Mophie charger in my bag, just in case. I am a fiction writer. I write in Google Docs and save my work to the Google Drive or Cloud. Currently I am writing a book of short stories. It all works wonderfully. Take away my 'Sammy?' NEVER.

This is for anyone who had a battery problem and changed it, but with one that is not the same brand/specifications as the one, the device came with. Can you let me know what you are using, as the original one is not in production apparently and I need a replacement?

I replaced the battery (do not believe it is non-replaceable; there is a you tube video to show how). If you lack the courage to diy any phone tech could do it. I had the same symptons and once I replaced the battery my old note 8 was as good as ever. Despite the age they are for most practical purposes, as good a small tablet as any available today, and better than most.
The batteries are available on eBay. I suggest you get an original samsung one - you will pay a little more but the Note 8 is still a fine tablet and heavy use can make cheap batteries catch fire (the easiest way to lower cost in battery manufacturer is to cut out the heat protection)

After all these years, still my "go to" tablet. I have gone through 7 different tablets and I always come back to the Note 8.0. I am on my second aftermarket battery, but they last several years. The Note 8.0 is the best piece of tech I have ever owned. I even bought the SGH 1467 sim model as a back up but it is kind of glichy.

Bought this May 2013, early 2017 i changed the battery worth $30, its only Class A, i asked for the original battery but they don't have, the technician told me that its also good but need extra care like not using it while charging or better off while charging, so i did and yes it's working like new! My plan was to sell it after i changed the battery but now i can't let go this tab, i use it in everything, surfing, movies, documents etc. Anyone can suggest a new model with same durability as this?

Late 2017, had to change the battery, cost 40 euros, worth it, because tablet still works a treat, struggling to justify buying a new one as this everything i need.

i use it since 2013. only need to replace the connection port(its broken part is connector port after i use bad quality usb otg. and its happen 2 times..so no usb otg)
and sometimes the stylus is not working in top area. but if i use my hand to touch itss still working on that top area , well but i think thats my fault , sometimes i over slept., with this tablet is under me.(its still amazing this notes so wide but doesnot bend after i sleep on top of it.)
love this notes. still working until now. i even not yet replace new battery ever since get as gift since decemeber 2013. (alraedy bought 3 battery replacement for this, just in case harder to find this battery years later)
i have 16 gb rom.
if only samsung makes this tablet in 64 Gb or more.
too bad memory internal is quite full now.so i need to look up at least 64 gb internal memory, with external card slot. note 7 is explode.so it seem only galaxy note edge is the option next..
have you guys have any suggestion.
need :
1. easyness to screenshoot, will be apreciated if the phone can do long /scrooll screnshot using the stylus,(dont like to use power button to do that)so it must comes with stylus.
2. ROM 64GB or more,, RAm more than 3GB.
3.mmc slot at least can extend up to 128 gb,
