I understand there are a lot of posts on this thread, and is not always fortuitous gathering information reading through these posts when bickering and flaming and butt hurt types want to poo-poo other peoples flagships and perceived 'brand loyalties'...
That aside, there has been some excellent 'how to use' posts for the Note Edge scattered amongst the many comments.
Firstly know that any new device for the first week (or so) will be getting updates and 'settling'; that battery life will likely settle and improve.
Certainly a dodgy app can drain the battery life quickly (screen on time and very poor reception and hidden wifi network scanning etc can hurt majorly- set 'auto brightness' to a comfortable level, perhaps turn wifi off when roaming from hidden wifi stations if that is your setup)
For figuring out if a dodgy app is giving me high drain; I use "cpu-z".
Get to know at what speeds your processor typically idles at. Then a quick check of cpu usage in cpu-z can reveal if the processor is running oddly high, at which point closing individual applications until the 'culprit' is found.
Android 5 has some decent battery/application management. And we will get Marshmallow soon enough with further improvements most likely (being reported).
I leave all phone features on except the smart screen/smart stay stuff (where the camera is assessing whether you are looking at the screen to figure out whether to keep it on).
I enjoy the official Samsung flip case as it has the 's-chip' and wakes and sleeps my phone without pressing any buttons.
I took this further with a Samsung fit watch that unlocks my device when I am close to it. (And reveals emails/messages/ notifications etc with a glance at my wrist; also I attach it to my steering wheel when driving long distances for use as on wheel media controls). The watch is setup to show weather and time and I use the black background (saves power on OLED screens).
Back to the phone...
Try moving to a black screen wherever possible... For example in we forums, make the background black not white/grey.
I do nothing to extend my battery life (other than trying to charge it before it goes below 10%(ideally before going south of 20% is best battery care)).
If I am in heavy use IT mode I always get a day.
If I use the phone like a normal modern smartphone and use as I need it- it will go two days (not quite- morning 'off charger', next night 'on charger'), and if I do little with the phone and use a BLuetooth headset for calls etc, can easily get three days. I have had five days+ runtime when I am couch potatoing/ recluse over a holiday period.
Just give it a week to settle and grab updates. After the wow factor and 'show off features' of the first ten days or so is behind us, and we get on with the using; only hardcore web nuts at full brightness with no rests will need to charge the phone inside of half a day. But after twelve hours of continual use I put to you; they likely need the rest, maybe fast charge for a bit whilst they grab something to eat?!

Is there nyone who can tell me about the... moreI have a note edge that is fourteen months plus of daily usage..In and out of pants and a lot of being carried in 'less than optimal' locations...
It has had the official flip cover installed most of its' life, even so, a nasty jump out of my pocket more than a metre above a bitumen road, flip cover 'flipped open', phone bouncing a rolling down the street (I'd been running)...the metal edge took the most part of the damage;
It had 'roughed up' a corner...
Other than two little chipped/scratch marks, the phone is perfect.
All metal is still shiny and reflective after the serious usage and handling it has received.
There are two positions which reveal a clear plastic; some sort of clip location I guess.. Which when I first noticed them I thought that it was revealing a plastic bezel- I have even seen posters here questioning if their phone is alright for having them...
But, yes, it appears to be metallic, and hardwaring.

Webpages have a slightly wider display (they wrap around on part of the edge) when in Portrait mode. This has singlehandedly been the best usage of my Edge screen (I do a lot of webviewing from this device).

Great upgrade from note 3 to note 4 and to note edge im planning to upgrade to note 5 but when i check the specification its all the same..however note 5 dont have IR blaster and micro sd card so i rather upgrade to note edge to so that im still updated with the current technology for the edge screen overall satisfaction guaranteed!

Ive never accidently hit any apps on edge pannel. I bought s viewer for it and curved edge tempered glass screen protecter. Fast charge is great. Fingerprint scanner and heartrate. And because i couldnt get it were i live i get looks from ppl and some asking were i got it lol. And s pen is so smooth to write with. And dislay is amazing also.

Ive put my note 3 next to it and not really much diff except note edge is wider display. Ive never owned note 4. But i think note edge is nicer in apperance and it has same features as note 4 i think. Battery life is amazing on note edge. The battery life is the best ive seen in a note. Performance is faster and like i said camera and vdeos are amazing even in low light. Really happy with note edge. And i got updated to 5.1.1 last week and no problems so far. Hope this helps

Note edge is down for marshmallow. Supposed to be end of feb or march sometime.
