You are right though and now would be the time to do it. Nothing to lose and everything to gain.

AnonD-586893, 02 May 2017why not wait for the note 8? or lg v30?Those would certainly be on my short list of cool shiny objects to look at. I'm just weighing the many months before their release, along with the probability that they will cost close to $1k, against how long I can stand the slowness of my current device.

Have really liked the phone all this time. My only complaints have been the low speaker output, the intolerable amount of time it takes to get to the camera and the fact that Verizon only pushed 1 o/s update out.
I'm considering the S8+ at this point but the infinity display may make it difficult to protect with a case, due to the screen wrapping the edges of the phone.
I'd like to hold out for the next Pixel XL but I'm somewhat irritated at the limited o/s updates that Google recently announced. I want Google or any android device manufacturer to support their phones in the same way that Apple does.

Anyone experiencing the same and what about updating to a next device? advice besides note 8 in q3 this year?

My wife is still using note 2 as a daily driver. I have installed latest Cyanogenmod to it and that has been why she likes it. It does not lag badly and everything is up to date. I recommend ditching the old Samsung touchwiz android. Or if you want to keep stock OS then at least wipe the phone once and reflash everything, it's like reinstalling Windows... everything is smooth again.

One week ago I received an update notification for "Improved Stability".
Did anyone else received such update?
It seems suspicious to have an update which is not listed in sammobile.com
