Some people here do not even know that all android apps (including whatsapp for Symbian only) do not close from the background even if we press the return key. All other Symbian apps close completely when we choose exit. This is the reason for worst battery backup of most of the android phones (do not blame on the processor cores for this).
Check this option in android 4.3 and tell :
Go to settings --> more --> application manager -->just tap from right to left placing your finger in the 'downloaded' section. You will see 'running'. Here goes on. Check the number of apps !!!. Wow !!!!. Even you force closing, it will say that those apps will run in the background after the next restart of the phone !!!.
If you do not have data plan enabled or have a WiFi hotspot nearby, you have to switch off the mobile data to avoid bill shocks !!!.
Still all android apps should be developed and redistributed with EXIT (without background running) option. This is one of the place where Symbian rocks compared to android. Another is asking us for the apps installation location. android apps just gets installed in phone memory be default. If there is no space in phone memory this is of no use even if you have 4.2.x android version with move to SD card option !!!.
I am not like a idiot here who repeatedly claims that only his phone is original (not a replica of note 2 etc) as if he has gone to the Samsung company directly and bought the phone.
I say once. My phone is original and I know about it. Thats all.

Anonymous, 25 Dec 2013This picture doesn't really show details about your battery... moreas I posted before I never charge in between only after battery goes to 0% ie when phone switches off itself and switch on after full charge ! 2g Internet is always online ( if the phone gets locked the internet stops itself except when downloading and installing ) battery lasts upto 20 to 22 hours ! u can see the icon of juice defender on the screen ! This was the maximum screen time I got ! The average is 8 to 8.30 hours ! I don't clean ram and I don't force stop apps ! Generally I use whatsapp, nimbuzz, opera mini, messenger, flipboard, dictionary and some other apps ! Follow the tips I posted before, u ll see the magic :)

Didnt show when last the battery was charged, how long it was used. For all I care you could have charged the phone inbetween and continue with screen time. Hope you understand what I meant. Meanwhile it didnt also show what the screen was doing while on. Was it constantly online or was it in airplane mode watching only videos.

Hi.I'm from Sri Lanka.I updated my note2 to android 4.3 few days ago.This is an excellent update I must say.I did a Factory reset of the Phone just before and after the update.The External SD card was also formated before the update (I'm not sure it is really necessay.but I just did it)...also I turned off all the unneccessary junk system apps..Beleive me this is such an excellent and useful update..The quality of the screen has been improved a lot..The performance is WOW....no lags at all..buttery smooth.Battery back up is also Improved.I clearly noiced it.yes it is true that the RAM consumption is bit higher than earlier.it is around 1GB now.but who cares? almost 1GB is still free..ultimately what matters is the performance,I dont need a Note3 now.i feel as if i already have it after the update.Thanks Samsung for this great update.

Today i got a excellent standby 5 hours straight not a single % battery drain i left my phone at 51% and after approx 5 hours it was still at 51%..and this is on a orignal galaxy note2 MADE IN KORIA not on a replica of note2 ....the 4.3 update rocks guys....just make sure u do not keep any apps open while in standby...enjoy..

I am facing a strange problem after the recent update. My phone hangs after a call is disconnected, the screen blacks out for a minute or so. No noticeable difference in battery life.
Also my OTG cable is not working anymore. Anyone else facing a similar issue with the cable??
