Yesterday, my phone all of a sudden refused to reboot. I went to sleep and woke up with it off. It arrives at the samsung and phone name on a black screen, and will not go further. I tried to hard reset it, but no joy. Has anyone had this experience? My phone is loaded with personal stuff and apps so I don't want to bring it in for repairs if all my data is exposed. what can i do?

The phone's lifespan is approximately same as yours (3 years old). I think I grilled my phone with overuse too. Even the technician of phone repair workshop can't diagnose what's going on with it.

Got it fall 2012 my gt n7100 died on Dec 2015. At first it started to go off or need a restart to function again. After a couple of diays it stock to the Samsung and model names. Guess I ve grilled the mother card by intensive use. FortunatelyI got a note 2 with a died display and could recover a device from two halves. Besides what seems a kind of programed almost sudden death I am in love with this device.

The marshmallow Roms still need work, but I have had great results with lollipop ROM - CyanogenMod 12.1. of course, you flash a ROM at your own risk. Proceed with caution. But for me, it was worth the effort and risk

I would rate Samsung Note II, is the best phone. I bought it on early 2013, still going strong. In fact I want to change the phone, but I couldn't find a single phone which is superior than the Note- II. Even the samsung later models of Note phones are not equal to this.

It's a 3G only 4 year old phone with no support at present. It would be advisable to go for the phones which are currently supported and readily available in the market.

I want to buy another Note 2 but I want one that's factory unlocked. I looked at all the different models and I saw this (N7100) and I'm wondering if this is the right one if I want it to work with Windmobile in Canada. Also, does this model have LTE? I know here it says it does but on other sites it doesn't say if it has it or not.

So, if any body knows, can you please confirm that this is the international model and is the one that works for all carriers especially Windmobile.

                                    Thank you.

Mine still good until now. I have the same problem of dying but not in note 2. On my tab 1. Samsung n6200. It just died but maybe of over use and over charging. The technician told me that mother board already gave up due to over using.
