human, 24 Jul 2013I want to buy a phablet/tablet. I really liked the s pen fe... moreI have both Note II and the Note 8.
Note 8 - great for indoors, fantastic enough screen contrast, more screen size for doing anything, and light enough for one hand. The camera is good enough to scan documents. I don't use flash to take pictures. NFC connection can be replaced with SuperBeam using QR method to connect WifiDirect automatically. The only bad thing about it is it has a non-replaceable. I'm a heavy user to the point that I use my mobile device to download torrents a lot, always wirelessly connected with other devices, and internet radio. I would find myself needing a charge at 40% left in the middle of the day so I could get it to work till late evening. I now know how Xperia Z, iPhone and anything with fixed battery would be utterly inconvenient for heavy users.
Note II - Compact enough for pockets, has all the features, except the screen is smaller. This I use for my wifi hotspot since I take advantage of my unlimited 3G internet. The replaceable battery is a convenient way of continuous power than plugging in. I get through 1.5 batteries worth everyday. I'd like to get that 9000mAh Zero Lemon battery extension. That could give me 2 days of heavy use without charging!
In conclusion, I'd keep my Note II over the Note 8 for reliability with battery power. I can always charge the spent battery with a desktop charger. I recently discovered that with root, I can manipulate the resolution to 200ppi and I can install my favorite apps for tablets.

digital friend, 23 Jul 2013really superb phone , everything is fantastic and especiall... moreThe Note II got released almost a year ago. No sense wishing it being a full HD. Note III is going to be FHD. You should wait for that. The 720p is very clear enough. If FHD is just going to increase the battery consumption, I'd just stick with the Note II.

Do try Android Revolution H.D, it's a fantastic ROM. It's so fluid that you never experienced Android like it before.
I always stay away from all the custom hypes out there but this one is extra ordinary. Kudos to Mike.
