Sounak Biswas, 15 Jan 2013It's a really good phone ! There are some problems though..... more"The dropbox gives you a space of 50 GB compared others which give you only about 2 GB"
Dropbox 50GB is good for 2 years only. Sony give you 50GB space on Box, for life. I activated mine on a Sony Ericsson phone and now use it for my Note 2.
I have the same experience with the camera, its good when in good conditions, when less good conditions it does not try to make a good shot, very poor auto mode that does make an effort. They say Sony and S.E. phones are slow in autofocus, but thats because they actually make an effort trying to figure out how to make a good shot, of course Samsung can focus fast with such a simplified auto mode.
Then add the inefficient call log of Note 2 that takes minimum 4 taps to access from the homescreen on Note 2, while max 2 taps on other phones. Text messages must be omitted from the log by default, or at least make the setting sticky! So annoying to have to scroll through 100 text messages before getting to some last dialed numbers, i had handheld cellphones since 1993, since before GSM, but i never had a phone without a call log before. Call log must be calls only, and preferably with tabs: Received, Outgoing, Missed, and then Samsung could add a TEXT MESSAGES tab as well since they seem to love text message logs.

The charger of the Note II has a rating of 2 Amperes or 2A as indicated. The charger of the Note I has a rating of 1A. The higher the ampere, the faster the charging time. That's why you see 2A chargers for tabs for faster charging 5000mAh to 7000mAh internal batteries.
A .5 to .75A chargers can still work, but they would take longer or even twice the time. The PC USB slot provides a .5A rating and the manual says you can charge the Note II by plunging in your USB cable.
The only disadvantage which I have observed for higher ampere chargers is the battery seems to empty faster. This is for batteries after a few months of dispense.
Do not overcharge your battery as charging creates a chemical reaction that produces a sort of particles that degrade the retention of power supply. So there should be a balance of the right ampere and lesser time you plug in your unit. This will certainly prolong the battery cycle, which is an average of 500 cycles. Always expect that they will degrade to some 80% longevity after a few months. That's why it's ideal that you cycle at least 2 batteries to almost fully drain them before removing it to charge on the official charger.
Another way of looking at this practice is that you reduce the risk of your device being forgotten or stolen while charging outside home.
For really heavy users, charge the spent battery with the official charger powered by a portable power bank battery in your bag. Some power banks cuts power after detecting your battery is fully charged.

its good if you want to get Note 2.but you will do a huge mistake to sell 7.7.. do you know that 7.7 tab is most reliable/ solid and beautiful tab....I am using this premium tab from a long time...You know its only super amolED tab..Its great to watch movies...No match of galaxy note with 7.7 if you preffer watch HD movies, browsing etc,Its so fast... yes....if you want Note 2, Please fulfill your wish without selling it..As i have both......

It's a really good phone ! There are some problems though.... The Android Jelly Bean causes some problem since the phone hangs sometimes (very very rarely though). The charger is too short and hence really problematic.
But the pros overpower the cons since it is the best phone you can possible have at this price range ! The dropbox gives you a space of 50 GB compared others which give you only about 2 GB. Pictures are of very god quality although the camera has problems focussing quite often and ends up taking really hazy and distorted pictures. The battery life is amazing keeping in mind that all the contemporary phones need to be charged once everyday, which is inevitable. But the Galaxy Note 2 can sustain a long time of video playing or song playing with minimum possible battery usage. The phone is really fast working due to its high speed processor.

Testing charge time, from 15 to 90% in exactly 90 minutes, lets assume the remaining 25% (15+10) takes the same time per percent, then its exactly 2 hours from empty to full. Powersaving ON, Wifi and Mobile Data OFF, not 3G.
I add a little error margin and say it charges from 0 to 100% in 2 hours 5 minutes, slightly more with WIFI enabled, and a lot more with background apps running. I guess that nearly 3 hours can be expected with active wifi connections from running apps.

helopilot, 15 Jan 2013welcome back neighbor havent seen you posts in a while ye... moreWhat I'm loving the Note 2 from being a 14-month Note 1 user:
*abot 4 times the battery stamina per full charge
*zero camera shutter delay
*2 GB RAM gives much multi-tasking
*split-screen goodness
*wireless HDMI dongle connection to projectors and TVs.
*louder speakers
*picture album management is easier
*S Pen better to handle with silo hardware detection
*wider screen
I fail to see any bigger difference of the sceen except the 80 pixel missing width ratio. I find it worth the upgrade.

helopilot, 15 Jan 2013welcome back neighbor havent seen you posts in a while ye... moreHey, helopilot! The Galaxy Note 1 has certainly served me well. It found its way to my wife. I learned to root because I had to network unlock it, but then enjoyed some more capabilities. From there, the One Power Guard had increased the Note 1's battery stamina by 30% as it lowered some of the background processes and I freeze apps I don't often use with Titanium Pro.
Applying this to the Note 2 has resulted to DOUBLING the original GSM Arena battery capacity review of almost 9 hours to about 15 hours of net surfing on 3G! Such a big surprise for me that I'm reconsidering not getting the Mugen 6000 mAh+ battery extension to retain the thin profile.
I'm still canvassing for the extra original battery and charger kit. In fact, I'm getting a new set of accessories as the ones for the Note 1 (5 pin) will not work for the Note 2 (9 pin).
Yeah, the whole bussiness of totally draining the power does help as you maintain the number of battery cycles to a minimum. I advise you get the extra battery kit so you won't be frustrated when you need to use the device. Charge from the charger as much as possible, and when you do charge on your phone, it is advised to actually turn it off. To avoid overcharging, I got a power socket timer to cut off for a number of hours. One Power Guard alerts you if your Note is on while charging when its full.
