AnonD-8312, 23 Feb 2012I forgot to mention the most advertised feature of the note... moreThe major reason why I got the Galaxy Note was the fact that it has the active (not capacitive) Wacom digitizer stylus that only works with the Note since it is the only one in the S series that was fitted with a special thin matrix sensor behind its screen.
I'm a member of the international Urban Sketchers group and this is so useful for my art. I'm an architect as well. Half of the language for my profession is drawing, for discussions, clarifications, designing and relaying ideas. I even use the Cad app to mark up plans for corrections!
I got the S pen holder kit that transforms the S pen into a full sized pen handling. You would find the side button a bit more obvious with this one. Although I can agree with the slight inaccuracy and very slight lag of the digitizing the lines, the Note is something that I have always dreamt of having years ago. The iPad was close, but not it at all. I imagined something it being big enough screen but small to be able to pocket, and had a pen like stylus that works like Wacom's Cintique digitizer series. This was the Note when I read the first announcement of it a year ago and I'm happy it works.

It's anti-theft design with a hidden zipper, normally for travel to carry a passport, and can be secretly behind your shirt without an obvious bulge. It comes in black or white. It cost somewhere around US$30.

Believe me, display quality is the best i'v ever seen. Even better then S2. No question about configuration. No ques about style. The only ques is how can i carry this monster???????? When i'm in the car or in home it's ok. But while moving outside it's very uncomfortable. I'm really worry about the protection of my phone!!!!!!!

I have bought first a GalaxySII and then a few months later a Galaxy Note and I can say that Galaxy Note is pretty much better than the SII. Don't be afraid of buying it, you won't be disappointed!

There is no battery in it, yet a button performs different actions. Anyway, the S-pen is shown to be the main feature of the note- Its not. The screen is the main attraction of the phone. The S-pen is probably the best stylus I have seen on a cell phone (even though it has been a long while since I saw a stylus in a phone), but the point is that it is still nowhere near as good as shown.
1)The pressure sensitivity is marginal at best. I can't see differences in pen strokes for different pressure applied. Only on applying a very light pressure, a thin line is formed.
2) Cropping a photo using the s-pen is harder than it looks, and it is really not as fun as shown in the ads.
3) There is a very noticeable lag, especially when writing something. Even in drawing the lag is there, and it doesn't feel natural. Drawing is a bit tough as your hand placement can create unwanted lines, etc
4) You will not be using the S-pen for anything useful. Its easier and better to use your finger for the normal phone and multimedia features. The S-pen button is also a bit hard to find.
So, the note is not essentially a replacement to an actual notepad, but it can essentially give you the multimedia experience of a tablet, in a body that is pocketable.
Just app compatibility is a bit problematic. (Ninjump looks crap on this, so does fruit ninja. But Shine runner or Samurai vengeance look alive on this device). I would recommend this device to anybody willing to spend a this much on a phone.

It should fit in your pant/jeans pocket, and it does not feel too uncomfortable. I am currently using the flip case samsung supplied with the phone-looks great. You could alternatively go for a pouch of some kind, not the kind that clips onto your belt, the one which acts like a sleeve for the phone which then goes in your pocket. Also, for the black white conundrum, the black looks great, and is the most common one around, but the white one looks amazing. Plus, the white one has matte aluminium sides (the black one has a darkish metallic one, and can get scratches). The only disadvantage of the white one is the back cover is glossy and prone to scratches. You could use a pouch, or use a flipcase which comes with the spare back cover attached, or any case which covers the back and sides. The white one certainly looks unique, and feels a bit smaller too (that's a good thing).

The only difference is the note has a bigger screen, and the quality is as good as the note. However due to the higher resolution screen, browsing the net feels very good on the note, you don't even have to zoom in to read webpages. On the other hand, you may note like the large size, or may note be able to handle it. You might like the note in the long run as most phones nowadays are coming with 4.6" screens and Hd resolution. Also, the note feels more solid. The S2 on the other hand is very pocketable and has more dev support if you're into rooting and loading roms. Get a look at the demo pieces in some mall or a samsung store. If you don't want to buy the note, wait for a few more days. Maybe some other HD phone might come up with a smaller screen. If you do like the note, get it as its price will hardly drop in the next few months, especially considering that the S2 still sells for the same price when it was released over 8 months ago (atleast in India).

note is good if u buy if right now, after a month may be in april-end LG optimus 4X HD will be launched it has screen pixel density arnd 320 ppi, with quad core cpu, capable of giving note a run for its money if LG prices it competitively.

Hey guys,
Just wandering what would be the best way to carry this around. I am going to buy this great phone soon (trying ot decide betwen white and black) and I want to buy a case as well so to protect it. I want something that is classy and good quality, preferably leather and if possible to clip on my belt.
