Its just that battery was functioning pretty well and of late it has deteriorated. My Andriod OS+Phone idle+Cell standby comes to 30%. Add another 46% for Display that leaves me with a mere 24% of battery life for all other apps!! Here again is this normal? Wud really appreciate if u guys can share ur battery usage info

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2012Are you kidding me? Yes. Of course I can see the diff... more"From a mile away"? Really..? Well, each to his own. The iPhone's screen's blacks are dark grays since it's a black lit type of screen, comparing it with HD Super AMOLED - so to me that is not really picture perfect. True, it has a higher density, but the screen size just defeats it at just 3.4" diagonal dimension against a bigger screen. Who would like to read such small fine text to read a like a book? You really need to hold you phone pretty close. Does the iPhone's extra 45 ppi screen density against the Note's 285 ppi really make a huge difference that you can see it "from a mile away"? I, for one, do not literally see the points. We disagree.

TheNeighbor, 10 Jan 2012It being a pentile screen is not such a big issue for me. D... moreAre you kidding me?

              Yes.

Of course I can see the difference on my Note from normal viewing distance. The edges of the letters look slightly jagged and the red subpixels can be seen FROM A MILE AWAY.

The iPhone4's screen is pretty much visually perfect. I'm extremely pleased with how it looks like. I'd have trouble telling the pixels apart even from up close. Too bad the rest of the phone is absolute garbage. And expensive shiny brittle garbage at that too.

Ver... moreYeah true, while I am awe struck by the phones great features, I find that the connection of the Phone through USB Cable to a PC/Laptop still has some recognition as a mass storage device issues. With the USB Cable connected , there persists a recognition problem. Even I wondered if that was a problem with the USB Cable!!!!!!!

My buddy has one of these phones and I asked him how the battery was. He compared the battery life to the iPhone 4. The battery for this phone is huge! It actually lasts 1-3 days depending on usage. If you have many widgets open then yes the phone will last less. Its all about how you use the phone. If you are constantly on the internet with the phone, expect it to last 1 day.

I charge it every night like everyone probably does in the world with ANY phone. Soooo all in all a great phone with NORMAL battery life in regards to ANY 4inch and above smartphone.

The concept of S-Pen is quite unique in this phone. It does work very well and can be used as a creative timepass.

Even iPhone users cover their precious units with accessories. I have yet to see Otter make a shock resistant shell for the Note, but I imagine it would really make it bulkier.

Samsung Galaxy Note is a complete feature packed phone. Very Good performance for Browser and other apps. It does fit into the pocket well, unless you wear the skinny types.

I feel the phone is definitely not meant for casual use. Also the phone doesn't seem to be too durable, so have to take care. The screen is scratch resistant , but the rest of the phone body seems to be fragile. In any case after three or four years you would feel the need to have a new phone.

I am not too happy with the Battery, but I believe this is the best you can get with Android phones. If you are a heavy user, but follow general battery saving techniques for android, one time charging shall be required in a day. Display is the biggest battery drainer here. So would suggest to keep the brightness at minimum.

Currently facing problem of connecting the phone in Mass Storage Mode via USB. It doesn't work always. (-:
That is quite irritating. I am suspecting a faulty usb cable. If anyone has faced a similar issue, kindly let me know if there is any solution apart from taking it to the service center.

All in all, you may not be disappointed if you purchased this one, since it definitely has a wow factor about it. It looks very good, works brilliantly as a smartphone, very good for watching movies and videos on youtube. Integration of google apps is quite good. Battery performance is not very good, but still best for Android phones. Apart from the USB issue, I am quite happy with the phone.

I have both the Note and the S2. I'd say S2 is still better. I'm more pleased with it. Just my two cents.

tonmoy from bd, 11 Jan 2012to those who are planning to buy this awesome screen device... moreI download torrents with my Note. With that on and an hour's worth of HD gaming, my battery got to 7% when I changed to a fresh battery this morning. On normal usage, one charge lasts 18 hours. Don't expect this monster to behave like normal brick phones to last for 3 days, since you use your Note with internet usage and use applications. There are more phones like SE Xperia Arc that are below half of the Note's battery stamina.

You can always get an extra battery. I charge the spent battery in my bag with a charger connected to a portable power bank. I don't have to worry about having to run out of power, and I keep my Note virtually wireless.
