I switched to galaxy note from galaxy S 2 yesterday. I was looking for a phone plus tab combo, now I got it. Note is faster than S 2! Loved the large display, remember you can use the S pen to create some unique arts. The headphones provided with the unit is white and extremely light. The unit comes with a complimentary flip cover which is cool.
Now the problems - battery lasts for 6hrs when moderately used, heats up soon, answering calls without blue tooth headset needs practice. Overall, Samsung has done what Dell couldn't do.

gn screen is quite clear on tests, no colour tink on the screen seen.

Yesterday I visited a mall here in India with my friends.
As I am more into gadgets and stuff went to check out some electrnic/mobile stores in the mall.
Most of the people there are intersted in either galaxy note or Ipad2. Few were checking out the Galaxy tab 10.1 - UI, browsing experience and other features.
I can understand almost all got awe over the size and display of GNote. Few were trying to check how it looks if they have it on the side of thier heads when making a phone call. And others around were trying to cotrol their laughter at that sight. I myself checked out Gnote and felt great with design and UI. They could have done a better finish on the back. Nevertheless it is better than that on GS2.
But everybody who tried Ipad2 enjoyed to the fullest, mesmerized by the smoothness of UI and apps. People are intersted in 3G versions (Wifi hotspots are rare in India), but they were pricey as usual.
Here conmes galaxy tab 10.1.. I felt that to be lagging too much .. even for an Android. then I closed all the background apps but it is of no help!! Even others felt the same as I understood from their facial expressions and body language. One dude even went to the sales rep asking whether there is some fault with the device. Shockingly, she said it happens with to all Android tabs and that is why they are cheaper than Apple's counetrparts. Not expected such a response from "SAMSUNG SALES REP". She might got bored with her job :)) or she wanted to be open completely.
I guess the number of widgets kept opened could be the reason for the poor performance.
On the other hand nobody cared for nokia devices. Lumia handsets are yet to reach the stores in India I think. N9 was not on display in any of the stores!!
Few were checking the designs of SE android phones but were put off by the price tags.
People in inida almost forgot that Motorola makes mobile phones. And as I know about Razr, I searched and found it to be on display in one of the stores. Never had a chance of (or never tried i can say) using Motoblur in hand before. It was not a good experince atall :( Most of the users and reviewers writes off Touchwiz to be too plain, iOS copy, boring etc. But I felt it is 100 times better than MOTOBLUR; both in looks and usability. But the bulid and design.. especially the kevlar coat on the back are bold and manly!!
On a lighter note - people who have been checking out the devices on display are explaining their features to the sales guys in stores :)

Hello all,
I've had my galaxy Note.
certain games cause the phone to become really hot, almost to the point where it becomes uncomfortable to hold the phone. Real Football 11 and Medieval castle are two games in particular that stand out, the latter is also a real battery whore.
I'm running the phone on the lowest backlight setting all the time. If i'm not using the phone the battery life is good, it can go a good few days. It just doesn't seem to handle heavy usage well at all.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers!

I keep hearing how wonderful it is, and I am making this my last device for a while. I have a 32GB card, and I'm ready. But does it have 'Media Hub'? I really enjoyed that, and purchased lots of shows. If not, I have found the apk for it...and will install it tomorrow. I'm so excited.

I love this phone so much! I got it a couple of days ago and the stylus, er S-pen, does some pretty neat things. The capacitive touch is still as good as any other Android phone. The screen is really impressive! It blows the iphone's screen away in every way as far as I can tell. I have over 20/20 vision and cannot see the pixels themselves. I can barely see them on the iphone though. The AMOLED scree is just so awesome on blacks since there isn't any backlight on them at all. It's very fast of course. Somehow, it seems faster than my galaxy s 2. I got a 32gb one for $670 on ebay.

Vish, 28 Nov 2011Hey guys, today went to a local retailer and was looking in... more reply to Vish battery life is great coming from nokia n8 and E7 i can say there is no comparison, with the nokia i always kept in mind batter level so i would not run out by day end with the note i will say nolonger do i worry that sia fetr 3 full days onnthe n4th day i am doen to 2 bars, from the firsy day i discharged the battery and charged it fully 4 times , conditioning it buddy you will not go wrong the note is the phone/tablet to have my only problem goggle map crashed big time propmting samsung repair shop internention they formatted the phone and reenstalled the Op system now 100% its the greated phone ever take care helopilot

New User, 28 Nov 2011Galaxy note has that blue tint when viewed at an angle, Is ... moreSome Galaxy S2 units also had the blue/green tint when viewed from an angle, its the oleophobic coating on the screen thats causing it.. some units dont have a blue tint until its tilted at an extreme angle.
