probably its corruptedNo, not corrupt. infact thats the only hardware i can bet about.
phone performs perfect during charging but display doesnt go off once removed.

Ashish, 14 Jan 2014I'm having this wierd problem from the last few days plz he... moreTurn your data off in idle mode.better still download 3g auto data switch.turns your data off in idle mode then it enables it when u unlock your phone.best battery saver u can ever get.or go on Amazon and buy a new battery.u can get them under £7 GBP.

I'm having this wierd problem from the last few days plz help me coz its draining out the battery faster than you reading my query...
The display of the mobile is not turning off, I tried it 1000 times but lock screen comes back to life in 2seconds. I have switched it off, removed battery, removed sim and sd card a dozen times but to no help.
When it is switched off, it keeps showing battery meter and vibrates every 5 seconds. It is difficult to turn on once switched off even if battery is removed and placed back.
Then the only solution is to connect it to charger and after that it startsbehaving normally, even display goes off as soon as lock button is pressed and doesnt come back.
once in a while it shows mobile being into charging even when it is not.
while tryinh to help plz try to answer my few queries
1. Does factory reset only erases data or takes my cell phone back to original setting?
2. Is it possible to take the backup of sms?
3. Does soft reset is of any help?
4. Is there anything called firmware update/troubleshoot in N7000
my phone is 14 months old and updated to 4.1.2

It has been a very long time since I updated to v.4.1.2 However, the loss of a particular S-Pen feature upsets me to this day.
Screenshot : Hold the nib of the s-pen to the screen while pressing on the s-pen button.
This feature used to work perfectly, pre-update.
However, now, I need to try 10-20 times (not an exaggeration) to get a single screenshot. I also need to hold the pen with some weird precision to get the shot.
Even the side palm swipe motion does not work properly. Not to mention, this is a very inconvenient method to take a screenshot, especially while gaming.
Another feature that was lost with the update was the ability to edit a picture with the s-pen immediately after the picture is taken.
Even if you reinstall "PhotoEditor" you will no longer be able to make immediate changes.
These were features that defined the Note and are now completely absent from the updated version.
The developers failed to keep these crucial features in mind when they rolled out the update.

i'm still using jelly bean 4.1.2, updated using kies... never rooted my note... should i root my note? but i really dunno how to root.. my note always lagging n sometimes restarts itself.. n always gets heated, and 'storage space running out'.. i really dont know wat to do.. it really pissed me off
