I am an owner of the Samsung galaxy Note since the past 1 year. Over this period the phone has served me well and there has been few complaints.
The pros and cons of the Note are:
1. Screen: The 5.3 inch screen provides full and crystal clear images and videos. Though not 720P HD it provides images almost equal to 720P HD or better than that. The color saturation is amazing .
2. RAM: 1 GB RAM serves its purpose well.
3. Storage: Note comes with 16 GB Inbuilt storage which is sufficient for most purposes. Whatsmore it supports expansion to 64 GB.
4. Build : I have dropped the Note nearly 10 times and one time severely when I had an accident. Still nothing happened to the phone and the screen has gorilla glass and there is not a single scratch on it.
5. Battery: the 2500mph battery easily lasts a full day with moderate use.
Now with the Cons:
1. Processor: The 1.4 GHZ dual core processor is sufficient for most games but not ideal. Ideally quad-core processor is required for absolutely smooth performance which the Note lacks.
Ideally I would use this phone for 1 more year before i upgrade it.

NO!!!! Stick to official ROM.. I had installed Cynogenmod(using CM installer-very easy to instal from PC) and the battery was draining very fast after installing ROM.. Problems playing web videos and apps used to crash before launching.. Ofcourse there are way too many options in custom ROM but official ROM is always good and efficient.. If u r a normal user (texting, calling, browsing, playing games official market apps user) stick to official ROM. If u r a super advanced user go for custom ROM( Only Cynogenmod is recommended)

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2013Don't listen to all these fan boys on here; I don't know if... moreIm using this unit for almost 3 years now since 2010. And i never had any major problems with it ever since even when i updated to ICS from GB and rooted it after. I saw some Pros and Cons about this unit, and as a technical person, i do say this is a good unit if you only know how to use it and maintain. I saw a comment that his unit freezes most of the time and becoz of that he is popping out the battery to restart his unit. Well, basics 101, to force restart your unit just hold the ON/lock switch more than 5secs and i will restart automatically. Even told that he charges his unit 3 times a day and he is not a hard user in that case.. 2 weeks ago i video recorded manila bay from a hotel from high noon to sunset straight from 94% battery charge and finished 18%. 6 hrs video recording 720x480 resolution from a 3 year old unit using its original Battery.
One of the most usefull feature of this unit is the flashlight, the good thing about this is a changeable brightness control from a widget switch that comes built-in in ICS for this unit.
I also find browsing good in this smart phone specialy using data connection. Played high 3D games and never lags. Good maintenance is a factor that keeps my unit perform well, like autorun and start-up manager, dx toolbar and many other maintenance apps available in the google market.
Again, im not paid for this post, its just that i had a good experience about this unit and for me, many better units/models will come out that will outrun this unit but for its generation it is outstanding and served me well and satisfied with its performance.
