Allan, 05 Apr 2024I bought this phone today. Obviously used by someone, but i... moreI sold it at 8% loss. Accubattery app was showing the battery health of the device was just 81%. I did the test by charging to 91% and then used the phone normally until it was at like 5%. I did a full charge and then the Accubattery displayed the phones battery health 81%, thats 3,246 mAh capacity.

Although the phone did feel like it was giving a decent SOT. I could squeeze just a little more than 4 hours of SOT -normal usage like calls, casual browsing, Instagram. Spotify and some whats app. Good device, but its hard to find one with a 100% battery health

AppleUser, 18 Apr 2024Is anybody experiencing the back cover of S10+ being easily... moreI have the same problem. It seems the glue is getting loose because my phone overheats, especially in the summer. Also, I have a case on it, so it might have loosened it faster. My phone overheats a lot every time I play a game or use the mobile data, so I will do whatever possible not to use it a lot and wait to get an S24+

Is anybody experiencing the back cover of S10+ being easily removed? No my battery is not bloated? had this since 2018 and I just noticed that I can easily pry the back cover. The adhesive seems to be weak (maybe due heat or the adhesive used in this model is defective).

I bought this phone today. Obviously used by someone, but it seems new ,hopefully not overused. I got the snapdragon version with Android 11 on it with 3.0 UI

I would not even think of upgrading it to Android 12.

I'll test out the battery life with the same android version and UI

CATHY, 30 Jan 2024I have had this phone since it came out in 2019 (5 years). ... moreU certain about the review? I intend buying the phine this year

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2024I need this phone for video and photography purpose. Will ... moreYou have Camera FV-5 for photography. And Cinema FV-5 for videos.

Camera FV-5 is the most comprehensive photo app but can't take videos. It supports mutiple cameras and a timer.

Cinema FV-5 I haven't found a way to access different cameras or a timer - as with Camera FV-5, it can record videos but not pictures.

Both are 3-4 bucks each on the Play Store.

There's also free app called Open Camera which has most of the features (not as comprehensive as Camera FV-5 or Cinema FV-5 but can access all the cameras and record both videos and photos and has a timer, but it doesn't autorotate pictures).

Haven't had luck with GCam ports working, those that work crash when accessing different cameras.

Take note, that unless using stock ROM or ones based on OneUI you won't be able to record slow motion or 4k60fps. Open Camera can force it but it doesn't work on LineageOS.

The details are really good. Both front and back. Don't really take much photos and videos so don't know about color accuracy or overexposure (though the sunlight doesn't affect the pics badly if it's in the frame) but you can compensate with Camera FV-5 and Cinema FV-5.

Arjun, 12 Mar 2024It's a good phone which satisfies your needs. But you ... moreYou can replace the battery. In my country a brand new battery replacement in a service center costs maybe 25 bucks.

I need this phone for video and photography purpose. Will it be my good decision to buy S10+?

Just fyi for anyone rooting and wanting to use banking apps:

Those apps need to be denied root. Root must be hidden from them.

You need Shamiko module for that.

Download Shamiko from https://github.com/LSPosed/LSPosed.github.io/releases and install it. On my phone, latest Lygisk, only 0.7.5 works, 1.0.1 gives me an error.

Go to Lygisk settings (it may also be a good idea to hide the Lygisk app and add a shortcut to the home screen), DO NOT toggle Enforce DenyList (you have Shamiko for that), then tap Configure DenyList. Add your apps there.

                            Then reboot.

If Shamiko is working properly, you will see the following message in module list where Shamiko is listed: Shamiko is working as blacklist mode.

This should prevent apps from even detecting root. Works on my banking app.

For Google Pay, download and install Play Integrity Fix: https://github.com/chiteroman/PlayIntegrityFix/releases

Installing the PIF module will let you pass SafetyNet. Tested with YASNAC.

Now, until very recently, there was a pickaprint.sh script you run as root, which would pick a fingerpront from a large list - you would run the script, try adding the card, and if it said your phone cannot be set up, you pressed n, tried again, and it would work after a short time trying fingerprints, but apparently Google banned majority of them. The script is here: https://github.com/TheFreeman193/PIFS

The other solution (untested by me, since the fingerprint included in the PIF module worked and allowed me to add the card to Google Pay) is to download the autopif.sh file attached here: https://xdaforums.com/t/module-play-integrity-fix-safetynet-fix.4607985/page-387#post-89233630

The script automates adding fingerprints from the Xiaomi.EU app project.

So that's a way to pass SafetyNet and use banking apps. And even if you can't set up contactless payments (I could, many times after a wipe), you can use banking apps still if they don't depend of Google and just detect root.

                              Just did an experiment.

As you may know, for Galaxy S10+ you need to (official explanation) connect it to a PC or connect a headphone to enter recovery mode.

Now, just 3.5mm jack headphone connection won't work (I tried), so must be through Type-C.

Now, the computer thing - it DOES NOT need a computer, any data connection will suffice: computer, car, modem, TV... As long as it attempts a data connection in any way.

Useful if you have your car nearby, but what if you don't?

Well, as per my previous post, I stated I have a Shanling UA3 DAC/AMP. Basically a sound card without a mic input, or an amplifier (it's got one per channel) with a DAC if you wanna be precise. But technically speaking, a headphone.

So I tried it with UA3. UA3 has a status light which shows when it's connected successfully as well as if it's using DSD and what sample rate it's using (ie. blue for 44.1/48 kHz, purple for 384 kHz and so on). It didn't show the status light when I tried it. But it DID enter recovery mode. Tried 3 times. And once it enters once, it will always enter until you boot up the phone.

Therefore, using a portable DAC/AMP also qualifies as a headphone and will allow you to enter recovery mode.

Rareart1, 07 Mar 2024I wish they'll release a sg g s10+ 2 model (with bet... moreI was hard-pressed to find any difference in sound quality between different DAC/AMPs, including the built-in 3.5.

I had iBasso DC03, AQUA Nexum (3 of them), Xduoo Link, and the one I have today, Shanling UA3. All broke of cable, DC03 I was experimenting with a Type-C splitter to see if it's possible to use it while charging, and it smoked.

The Shanling is the best overall, having a high power output on both 3.5 and 4.4 outputs (yes, it has 3.5 unbalanced and 4.4 balanced) plus a detachable Type-C to Type-C cable which means it won't die because of cable. It's aluminium machined very precisely. You can connect any device to it, not only your Android but your iDevice or PC/laptop too. iDevice does need a special OTG cable but everything else will use any cable (did I mention the cable is detachable?). The output is 125 mW@32 ohms for 3.5 and 211 mW@32 ohms for 4.4. It costs 109 USD on eBay. I'd say it has enough power for all but the most demanding headphones. It's a little bulky but perfectly portable.

Plus it has fake leather for 20 or so bucks so you can cover it from dents.

A DAC should be accurate. It's digital data converted to analog signals. Digital is the same no matter what. I can't say for others but for me, hearing differences is placebo. But power because of higher impedance and increased bass through effects so it doesn't clip? That's what it's for. And maybe if you hear hissing and need clearer signal.

                                Plus, UA3 supports DSD512 and 768 kHz.

I have used FLAC files with IE 800 S and ATH-M50x and could hear no appreciable difference. So personally, if not for power, they are a waste of money better spent on better headphones/earphones.

Instead, root, and use ViPER4Android, JamesDSP and jetAudio for effects. It's amazing the clarity and bass you can pull off that way.

Plus, go to AutoEQ GitHub webpage, copy the EQ parameters and paste it into JamesDSP's Magnitude response string to get neutral sound.

Or you can use JamesDSP rootless from Play Store, by using Shizuku through wireless debugging to grant permissions and get AutoEQ that way, plus all the effects. Or Wavelet, that also supports AutoEQ and more apps but not as much effects as James.

And if you REALLY need power, buy iFi GO Bar. It also has 3.5 and 4.4 but truly insane power, apparently capable of powering even 600 ohm headphones, but it's pricy. And portable too, like the UA3.

uniquedan, 14 Feb 2019I love it,they should release it quickly. I wish they'll release a sg g s10+ 2 model (with better wired and wireless charging and a quad DAC for wired that puts everything that has come before to shame, audio output high-end specs wise).

Conz, 19 Jun 2023By far still one of the best phones that was ever made by SamsungAgreed.

smiks, 06 Mar 2024how about the front cam?, pls answer ASAP thanks I'm not an expert on cameras, but I think the pictures look nice.
The normal camera is 10 MP.
The zoomed-in one is 6.50 MP.

The zoomed-in camera video resolution is 3216x1808.
                                      The normal is 2288x1080.

                                      Tested using Open Camera.

The details are there IMO. Don't know about color accuracy or overexposure and such but the details themselves are good.
