Anonymous, 04 Dec 2021S10: Better camera Better gpu(up to 60%) Better cpu Be... more1. This build quality stuff is meaningless. I have the S10 and Pixel 3a, and I would any day prefer the 3a's soft back over the slippery smudgy glass. Plus you lose points for protection, and you're going to put a case on it anyway right? The IP rating is practically the same, you can dunk both of them for 30 min in 1 metre.
2. It's obvious that you're biased towards the S10. The fingerprint sensor on the S10 is NOT better than on the A52. If I had to describe the S10 fingerprint sensor in one word, it is INCONSISTENT. Trust me, I have the S10 and one moment it works perfectly, next moment it doesn't work at all. I would say even Pixel 6's sensor is better, as although it is slow at least it WORKS.
3. MrWhosetheBoss did a comparison between A71 and Note 9, and the camera is similar between the two, even though Note 9 has better hardware. He says "the newer midrangers come with a newer more advanced image processing engine", he even compared the phones camera, and A71 has better dynamic range, and overall he says they are both good. So the same should be with S10 and A52.

4. You say S10's screen has a higher resolution and hdr10+, but leave out A52's high refresh rate out like it's not that important. Well, know this, some people prefer higher refresh rate over resolution.
5. But you are right about cpu and gpu. If the person we are recommending really uses their phone for gaming intensive tasks, then surely the S10 is a better choice.

Seriously tho, sometimes a better battery life, fingerprint sensor, high refresh rate and more updates is better for the overall experience than the "build quality" and "high resolution" that you will most likely not notice anyway.

But when you get it, don't tell me you miss that high refresh rate, fast charging and better battery. In my opinion, SD 720 is still plenty fast along with smooth One UI, and I wouldn't trade it for all those stuff.

Charging time to 100% is the same because s10 has smaller battery to compensate for slower charging

Worst S series I've had. Proximity sensor is rubbish, keeps turning the screen off unnecessarily. Auto rotate is really temperamental and notification sounds work as and when they please. The S7 was so much better than this.

I heard alot of peo... moreWell exynos is infamous for having worse battery, performance and thermals than snapdragon, that is expected. Especially on my exynos s10, the battery life is not good. If you can, I would suggest importing the snapdragon variant of s10, otherwise you could get a midranger such as A52s, Redmi, Pixel or Oneplus.

Heex, 16 Jul 2021For the long run always get a flagship, doesn't matter... moreThere are a lot of midrangers with fast processors. You don't need flagship level power to run basic social media and gaming tasks. And also these midrangers have faster refresh rate and charging. For me, if a phone has longer software software support, it will last longer.

Get the A52, it is 2 years newer, and it will get 2 years of more software updates. This WILL help A52 last longer. A52 has 90Hz refresh rate and (supports) 25W charging, while S10 has 60Hz refresh rate and 15W charging. A52 also has a lot better battery life than S10 (and you have to worry about the exynos version on s10 which heats up a lot too). A52 has a flat screen for better handling and plastic back for better protection. Even the camera on A52 is surprisingly similar to S10. Only thing S10 has is faster chipset.

I really wouldn't suggest getting S10, as it is pretty old now with no high refresh rate and poor battery. Also check out the A52s, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Sony Xperia 5 II, Moto Edge 20 Fusion, they are great deals.

Ive been daily-driving the s10 for a few months now, got it cheap used, upgraded from a s8 so this review compares to it.
Massive improvement in speed with 8Gb of ram, everything runs supper smooth, and apps stay open in back ground. Still has headphone-jack and SDcard. For 2021 standards its a small'ish phone. Phone runs hotter with the higher CPU clock, so the battery life is not as good, but phone charges fast. Under screen finger print reader is slow. They broke Always-on-display since does not turn off in the dark anymore, so the screen stays on forever, this is bad. They made it very hard to root this phone, since you have to boot into recovery now. They still use this unnecessary curved screen that you cant put a decent protector on. Front camera hole is bad. But with all this the S10 is still a very good buy used in 2021, much better option than a new'ish $1,000+ phone at almost the same speed.

Got this phone way back 2019 and i super love it! I couldn't count anymore how many phones i've used ever since i started using one, and all i can say is this one's the best so far! Camera, battery, apps, no problem at all! But last 2020, our pet cat dropped this phone, and unfortunately, the LCD was cracked.. huhuhu. But no problem because I can still use it, still soft to touch.. But I want the LCD to be replaced.. where can i buy cheaper LCDs for this? I'm from the Philippines by the way.. :-)
