My S5 has this habit that every 3-4 months (quite regularly too) it freezes in such a way that the Power key is unresponsive so I cannot reboot the normal way. The only good alternative then is to yank the battery out, reinsert it and then reboot. On the G2 for some reason I never had this issue in all of 18 months of use. Now I shudder to think that I may have to leave my unresponsive phone to run its battery dry before I get to regain use of it if the OS does its (ahem) job.

I never cared much about the IR remote (though it definitely saw some use), definitely not after the Peel app had one terrible update that effectively popped ads over any other app running onscreen, and which placed a control bar at the bottom of the screen (where the keyboard pops up... like, say, if I need to type the screen unlock password).

      Cost too much

One UI to rule them all,
        One UI to find them,
One UI to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.

I'm part of a Xiaomi community in Facebook, yesterday I read some comments there and even they recognize the S10e as a good small flagship. What we read here is some salty fanbois talking trash because is free, asking for more in an almost perfect device they can't afford. I rarely leave a comment but when I read the news or phone specs these frustrated people have the same pattern. I find it pretty sad actually..

and i must say it was not easy. losing the IR blaster remote and the removable battery made using the phone much harder.
since now i have to find all the lost remotes, since i used the phone for everything. and getting from 0 to 100% battery in less than 20 seconds is still unbeatable.
But also, there are many things that the S5 UI does much better.
multi tasking - it does not force you to leave the app you are on, just to add another. since on the new UI pressing the recents button pauses the current app.
side loading apps - on the S5 UI, you could allow a side load for "this time only" while on the new UI it is a toggle, which mean you have to remember to turn it of later. that is a security risk.
there were more, but i don't remember them.

Yonef, 05 Feb 2019nice, for about $500 asking $1000 for "Lite" version with... moreWhat features are so limited? Comparing this to the S10 it misses the telephoto lens and .3 inches of screen and 300mAh while having a much more reasonable screen resolution (possibly better battery life?) and the same chipset and the same amount of RAM and better usability as it is more compact. Relative to the price of modern flagships it seems quite reasonable... if you are prepared to swallow the modern pricing in the first place.

Anonym_750, 05 Feb 2019If it's Samsung Galaxy Lite version of the S10 which means ... moreAnd what should manufacturers do for people who would actually want a flagship but find a modern day floor tile-sized flagship way too uncomfortable to use (not just one-handed)? For that matter what should those people do? Their hands will not grow on command to match the size of modern-day phones properly or in a timely manner after all...

Though there is a fair point. Compact-esque (think S6 size or smaller) mid-rangers should also be available on the market.

uhm, 29 Jan 2019How the hell is this Lite? It's got same specs as the stand... moreIf by "lite" they meant "compact" then this definitely fits the bill nicely. It IS compact in terms of physical size and the screen resolution is not quite insanely battery-wiping-out high as people might demand for something with a 6+ inch screen or so.

I for one look forward to changing my S5 with something flagship-grade which is about as large (this is a hair smaller) and I am quite excited that some flagship-spec yet compact-ish device exists in the pipeline and is made by a company unlikely to exit the business anytime soon.

And yes I do find compact phones quite very usable (not just with one hand) even during a session of split-screen multitasking (I use this all the time just like I did on my LG G2 before). I have small hands and thin fingers and very good eyesight up close so they work well for me.
