Ferz, 30 Oct 2020 I am currently using poco f2 pro and planning on changing ... moreI have been using my S20 FE for about a month and I think it is worth it. It works very well and has an even bigger battery (+500mAh) than the normal flagship S20. The screen and entire phone itself is beautiful. I bought my phone in Canada so I spent $200-600 less than I would have if I chose the other flagships.

Ferz, 30 Oct 2020 I am currently using poco f2 pro and planning on changing ... moreWell your screen will be interrupted by a camera hole, you'll be losing AptX HD (Bluetooth codec), and a headphone jack, but you'll be gaining a 4k front facing camera, a 120hz display, dual speakers, and water resistance by going with the S20 fe. Apparently you also have to watch where you get it from, some markets have it with 8GB of RAM while others only 6GB. The Poco F2 and the S20 FE are 2 phones I've been eyeing to upgrade from My S10+

I ended up getting this for giggles from Costco (no contract). I had the S20+ [returned] and though it was one hell of a beauty - it was perhaps a tad too big but more importantly the 3D fingerprint reader was a bear esp with [reviews only] getting a good screen protector (tempered glass) to work and the curve glass would only yield a case that had protection at the top and bottom. The FE uses a different optical fingerprint reader [not as secure I have read] and not curved. 8T is also still on my mind but doesn't have wireless charging/optical reader and I am seriously considering jumping ship to Apple with the FaceID as the fingerprints don't work well in the winter (chapped fingers). The lack of messaging via Windows though is a concern with iOS.
At any rate Samsung is one piece of work.
Not only do you get bloatware junk foisted on you - I couldn't believe my ears when I saw that they actually reduced the number of fingerprint fingers on the FE to 3! My blasted old Moto Z Play has 5 fingers - and so did the S20+. They are sitting in Korea rubbing their hands together laughing, figuring out how to screw people over. Unreal! I honestly thought 5 fingers was a stock feature that all Android phones would have. What possible valid reason would they have to reduce the quality of the security with this phone other than to point out to you "this is why you should buy a flagship and not this junk." -- Seriously - anyone????
On the Moto I would add each thumb and 2 index and cannot recall the other - might have been my wife's. But then I read the trick to help with helping recognition by generating two prints of both thumbs. Of course on most humans that would equal 4 finger prints. One shy of ScammySung's FE three fingers. Don't even trust their face recognition and their optical is not as secure as the 3D. All crap.
And that silver ring on the camera - they knew too that would be a major turnoff - and boy is it. Stands out like a ... missing thumb.
Hear that? That is the sahweeeeeeet sound of a Samsung phone going back in the box back to Costco and then to some landfill somewhere. I should listen to my gut - "you hate Samsung - so why buy their crap?"

So how is this thing working with Snapdragon chipset, primarily regarding battery endurance? Personally I don't even consider Samsung as an option if I see there is Exynos under the hood.

But that being the case how are reviews saying good things about the Exnos 990 models- Note 20/Ultra, S20 series? How are consumers buying them in millions? Samsung only has Snapdragons in US and a few other markets. Everywhere else it is Exynos. Samsung marketing (and the fact that there is no choice if you want to avoid Chinese) drowning out reality?

After a few updates the note 9 felt slower and battery life was subpar. Hope it goes better now with the snapdragon version in the future. Exynos is a rip-off. They claim the 1000 series will blow snapdragon away but there reputation is all ready made I fear.

The Sensor information is a bit misleading. The Proximity sensor is now virtual. And it really doesn't work well at all. People using the phone for longer calls while moving around are experiencing hang ups, random dials... because the virtual sensor is not deactivating the screen. Hopefully Samsung can fix via a software update. See the issue on youtube https://youtu.be/7Ei1uWcEVq0

I was using Galaxy Note 9 with Exynos 9810 before this. It's battery lasted 1.5 days easy, without of too much battery saving effort. This one barely manages 12 hrs without much use. So what is wrong with this particular Exynos?
Why do gsmarena's battery tests show 118 hr rating for S20FE?

i wish this phone had a 3.5 jack...
also i hate that exynos exists and it's the same price as snapdragon but offers less performance and worse battery optimization.
