Anonymous, 30 Mar 2023It's weird mine has a 1 year and 3 months expiration o... moreI reviewed the box again to look at the seals if they were genuine and the accessories. I also checked the IMEI (two numbers being dual SIM) on the box. Everything matches up. It's legit brand new and authentic as the seller said. It's definitely not refurbished but if it is, Samsung is selling factory refurbished S20 FE 5G as brand new without stating anything about it in the box or anywhere. Either that or maybe its really a bad batch from the S20 FE 5G 2022 re-release. Could also be the final software update rolled out OneUI 5.1. I hope Samsung addresses this in a software update.

It says e... moreIt's weird mine has a 1 year and 3 months expiration only with the warranty ending in March 2023 - month and year only, no date - unlike your model which has a full 2 years warranty up to the EXACT date. Also, can you confirm if you have the RED colored model? (RDEU = red, EU/International). Mine says white (WHCH = white China) but it's actually BLUE! There's only one explanation for this then - I have an OFFICIAL SAMSUNG FACTORY REFURBISHED UNIT. That seems to explain why its Samsung factory sealed and why it has just 1 year 3 months warranty and why Samsung would re-release the S20 FE 5G in 2022 with exactly the same specs as the original 2020 S20 FE 5G.

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2023Could I ask just to be 100% sure. You do have a regular S20... moreI do have the 2022 model based on the IMEI check. It says estimated manufacture date: January 26, 2022. Warranty expiration: March 2023. Based on model number, the only difference between your model and mine is the production date, the country sold, and the software version. I got the earliest batch of the 2022 S20 FE 5G (January 2022), which could possibly increase the chances of production defectives. You have the international model (G781B while I have the China/HK model - G7810. Then there's also the software version difference: OneUI 5.0 (your model) vs. OneUI 5.1 (my model). I don't know how much your internal storage and RAM is but I don't think those can affect battery performance. My S20 FE 5G has really bad battery life. It's the third straight day that I've fully cycled the battery from 100% to 0% to recalibrate it - no charging until the 100% drops to 0% (auto shutdown). Still, the battery drain on standby is consistent - 2.7% to 3.0% per hr. With 100% full charge at 8 AM, and only 4hrs SOT (screen on time - browsing only on mobile data and Wifi), no gaming or battery heavy activities), it's completely dead (0%) just before 12 midnight!

No gaming, no YouTube/videos, no photos. Just plain chrome browsing gsmarena.com and other news sites. Pretty bad battery life for a 2 week old brand new phone. I have the SM G-7810 (HK/China variant, unlocked) by the way. It's the 256GB /8GB RAM S20FE 5G and made in Vietnam. Software is OneUI 5.1 Android 13. Google Play System update is March 1, 2023. Security patch update is also March 1, 2023. May these Vietnam batches have really bad batteries. Does your S20FE 5G variant have similar software/hardware/model variant as mine or is it manufactured elsewhere?

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2023So you mean the S20 FE 5G 2022 release won't have Andr... moreIn terms of S20FE 2022 model release, this logic is correct. However they still may sell it with shorter update plan. (it was meant to be for limited markets only) It's up to customer to check offer details first so that he's able to decide whether to buy or not. Can't blame others if he doesn't.
(PS Idk what's the support for that phone)
Ofc warranty is separate matter.

Anonymous, 30 Mar 2023Possibly, pretty average of samsung if there was a batch re... moreSo you mean the S20 FE 5G 2022 release won't have Android 14 even if it was released with Android 12 during its launch in 2022? That would really be poor software support - just one year of updates when even the cheapest Samsung midrange phones get 2 major android software updates.
Re-releasing an old model should mean the same number of software updates be given to it from the date of re-release, not from the date of the original release. So if the original 2020 released S20 FE 5G came with Android 10 and had 3 major software updates (Android 13 being the last it has received), those who bought the 2022 re-released S20 FE 5G (which came with Android 12 out of the box) should be entitled to similar 3 major software updates - that is, up to Android 15. Otherwise, it would be unfair to buyers of the re-released S20 FE 5G 2022 to just get one with software update support ending with Android 13 (one major Android update only since their 2022 re-release).

I'm using this phone from past 1.5 years. All the specifications are good except the battery. I charge 3 times a day. Immediately after unplugging the charger 100 comes to 98. Within few minutes, it comes to 85. Overall will discharge in less than 6 hours.

Jacek, 29 Mar 2023I just had a thought. My S20 was manufactured in June 2022 ... moreThat's the new 2022 re-release of the S20 FE 5G so its still less than a year old. Mine was the original 2020 model S20 FE 5G. It's weird though why Samsung would re-release the S20 FE 5G in 2022 with exactly the same specs. Maybe there were a batch of really defective S20 FE 5G in the original 2020 release that they need to cover under warranty?
