Anonymous, 30 May 2022Can you explain why? What's wrong?Well, I admit I was probably too harsh, but this phone is mediocre at best. It can't be a flagship if:
- it has mediocre battery life
- mediocre charging speed
- Only 394 ppi density, although I'm satisfied with a display
- Only 128GM of internal storage with no expendable options
- Exynos instead of Snapdragon
- Not so reliable fingerprint scanner
- Terrible face recognition
- No charger in a box
- Rushed updates that are often with many bugs
- Scrolling is not so smooth
- Overloaded with unnecessary Samsung applications
- You can't set different resolution in camera for taking a photo, only different aspect ratio

That is in no particular order what bothers me about this phone. I was using Huawei flagships for years and they were much better, but now without Google services, I cant continue with them.
And I don't like Apple, so Samsung was a logical choice, but huge disappointment.

Hi what's the battery drain like on the Exynos version?

I'm constantly researching more on how to extend my device's battery life and I hope these things will help others as well here.

There is instructions before you do something and friendly XDA community. Feel free to ask on that forum whatever you want.

Hmm it could be true but I didn't tried it yet. I'm satisfied with my exynos device after ADB commands optimisations and disabling some useless programs(onedrive, dual messenger....)

I keep my display at 60hz because the 120 is a gimmick for me, don't really care about it but it safes me a lot of juice in the power department. 6 or 7 hours of screentime and 30 procent left before I charge (wireless, at 15w). Seems to help the battery health a lot. All that super super fast charging, can't be good for the battery on the long run.

I've also been hearing that if you disable the fingerprint sensor animation and you you enable one feature under Developer Settings your S21 Plus' battery life will significantly improve? is this true?

I did some ADB commands and everything is smooth now. I'm getting 7-9hours screen on time all the time. You can search for those adb commands in xda forum. Just type in google [GUIDE] [NO-ROOT] Complete Samsung OneUI Optimization . There is whole thread about it. Maybe you have missed but it's worth your time

Gino76ph, 22 May 2022Problem is my Galaxy S21+ is an Exynos version. So is mine ;-), it's not a bad processor, just not as good as the snapdragon. Sad that they make 2 different versions and ask the same amount of money. Happy with the phone but not sure the next one will be a samsung if they keep this strategy of 2 types for different areas. I want the full power for my money. I played a bit with the s21 fe of a friend and you just notice it is more snappy and less lag in some areas. Just trying to open up a page with in facebook for example, Exynos is miles slower then the snapdragon. Little things but sometimes a big difference. I had the s20 fe, that thing was fast. Only the screen touch issue (that was a real thing bothered me senseless) made go for the s21plus.

The Exynos Galaxy S21+ clearly has a much lower battery test score than the Snapdragon version as shown on DXOMark. But i've seen several videos that is the contrary. Is it because Samsung has pushed several software updates to maximise the efficiency of the battery? Having had Android in the past 11 years I can say I've pretty much done all the battery saving tips & tricks under the sun apart from rooting the thing. So, is there anything else I need to be doing?
And is it advisable to leave the phone charged overnight so I can have fresh 100% by the time I wake up to go to work?

Its about focus strenght, shutter speed, and the amount of light it can manage and also processing al the data. A good 8megapixel lens and the latest processor will give better pictures then a budget 64megapixel with a budget pocessor.

So a question, does anyone else noticed the battery that drops quicker with certain cases? If i use my spigen case (thick rubbery one) the battery is dead after 6 or 7 hours. Without using it. Feels warm also. If i use a thinner case with a clear back, it works fine. Possible some cases interfere the signal? Or block the attentas? Using the exynos version and cell reception is normaly 4 or 5 blocks strenght.
Also does anyone know certain cases that use aluminium, better or worse experience with the cell reception? I Mean there is metal in the phone but if you block the plastic cell band with metal. Worse signal?

Has anybody noticed the fingerprint scanner is slow and less reliable after the May update? It works like normal with apps but when waking the phone it is horribly slow and often does not register.

I cleared the cache and it did not help.

                                    Snapdragon Variant.

                                    Any Thoughts?

I love few things from this device
                                      1) Good Camera overall

                                      ==================================
                                      1) Normal usage it heats ~40c
                                      2) Camera shutter delay (mostly blurry) even with burst mode mostly blurry pics
                                      3) Camera UI laggy
                                      4) Performance degraded after latest oneUI (2022 MAY) update.

Confused because in 2021/2022 till May not a single device (phones) found, have balanced features. Most of SDgen1 heats like crazy.
