Got it as replacement for my S8 work phone. It looks nice, nice camera, good specs. Real fast and very good display, pleasant to read.
Still, after half an hour I tried to return it to my employer, but it's the default phone we have to use it. The amount of bloatware on it is unbelievable. The amount of 'features' and permissions you can not disable is astonishing. One of the most expensive phones out there, and you have ZERO control over it. For me it does not feel like a mobile, it's a tracking device. I regret it will spend most it's life switched off in my bag instead of in the hands of someone who appreciate the product

aaronwt, 18 Jun 2021I want the phone to be as fast as possible. The a52 5g has ... moreYou talk about 5nm cpu ? True the new cpu is the only thing that is better on s21 than s20. But i very doubt that in daily use you can see how fast that cpu compare to the last one. Plus even the new cpu is better, s20 also has more ram on 5g version 12gb vs 8gb , so that would help.
I don t care about fingerprint or face id because i don t lock my phone with a code, i don t work at nasa to have nation security level.
But more important is the screen quality , they downgrade the screen to only 1080p just like a mid-range smartphone to reduce the cost for production but they did not reduce the cost of the phone for client.
That is the big problem. So if the phone will sell at that price that means that most clients don t care about the specs and only care about the new shiny thing.
And if that works what is stopping them to use 720p next year or in 2 years. How low can you go?

Anonymous, 16 Jun 2021What S21 has and s20 doesn t have ?? S20 has 1440p if you... moreI want the phone to be as fast as possible. The a52 5g has a midrange processor that is much slower and less efficient than the 888 in the S21. Heck I think it's supposed to be even slower than my old S10 was.

The S21 has an integrated 5 g modem and the SoC uses the 5nm process. While the s20 5g modem is not integrated, uses the 7nm process and uses an older, slower processor. While the a21 uses an 8nm mid range SoC and is even slower than the S20.

The s21 uses UFS 3.1 for storage and the S21 uses slower UFS 3.0. Then the A52 has even slower storage than the S20.
The screen of the S20 has 1200 nits of peak brightness. While the S21 can reach 1300 nits of peak brightness. The A21 is down there with only 800 nits.

The S21 can access more 5g bands than the S20 can.

The inscreen fingerprint reader on the S21 is larger and faster than the one on the S20.

The S21 has an adaptive refresh rate for the screen.

The s21 has longer battery life that the S20. Because of the more efficient SoC and the adaptive refresh rate.

These are some of the reasons why the S21 is a better phone for me than the S20 is. Then you throw in the lower price for me for the s21 and it was even more enticing.

For my use of cell phons the S20 doesn't come close to what the S21 gives me.

S20 has 1440p if you whant quality screen ( you know all the phone is screen) , 12gb ram version , s21 has only 8gb version , micro sd card , and all of that with a lower price . S20 is cheaper than s21 .
The flat screen is a downgrade for some of us . But this is
If you don t whant quality screen why not buy a52 5g ? It has the same display quality .

Even if you offered me the S20 for free I would not take it. I like the S21 that much more. Heck, the flat screen on the S21 alone is enough for me to want it. Not to mention the other advantages it has over the S20. And $300 after trade in for the S21, 256GB, unlocked is very inexpensive.

EDIT: I just realized this is an S21 non 5G thread. And that phone does not even exist. Obviously I have the S21 5G phone.

In my country S21 has the same price as S20 5g and more expensive than S20.
I myseslf use a s10e , but i love s10 and s20 curved quality display (Except the big size). A friend of mine has S10 and another s20 , it is a big difference compare to mine . The only problem that i have with s10 and s20 is that they are to big .
But S20 has better features with a lower price .
I don t understand why people would belive that s21 is better than s20 just because is newer , and 21 is bigger than 20 .
S21 were ok if the price was the same as s20 fe .

Anonymous, 13 Jun 2021Dude i don t care about apple . If you compare Apple with S... moreThey do it because it saves Samsung money. And they probably have the data that shows that the majority of people run the Galaxy S phones in 1080P mode anyway. Since that is the default setting. And many people have no clue about changing the resolution on the S20 and earlier S Series. They leave it in the default mode of 1080P.

I've had my S21 since launch now. And while I can see the difference between the 1080P screen and the 1440P screen my S10 had. Not once did I ever think to myself that I wish it was the screen my S10 had. With the higher resolution.

Plus I never liked those screens with the curved edges. Just the fact that the S21 went back to a flat screen had me excited when it was announced.

I've been using the Galaxy S phones since the S6 was released. Getting a new one every two years. This S21 has easily been the best deal I've had with a Galaxy S series. Since with the $550 trade in for my S10. The S21, 256GB, unlocked only cost me $300. The trade in prices were higher. And the retail price for the S21 was lower.

I only hope they do the same thing next year. If they start doing this every year, I might just start upgrading my S Series phone every year from now on. Instead of my normal two year upgrade cycle.

If you compare Apple with Samsung is like compare apples with pears . Some people like apples , some people like pears . I for exemple hate ios and how it works , but that doesn t mean that is not good and apple products are not good , this is just not good for me .
But since s6 every s-series except the fe or e edition has 1440p display resolution . Because it is logical to have the best screen when you pay that kind of money . This is the first time when they go back to 1080p display for an s-series when that phone was supose to be a flagship . How can you put a mid range display on a flagship and charge the price of a flagship ?
I can compare S21 with S20 , they both have the same operation sistem , the same brand
S20 has better features , better price , why would you ever buy i phone more expensive , less features ,

why samsung flagdhip are not SD processor

Hi. I would like to ask if there is a far easier way to hide apps (not via Settings or Secure Folder) similar to how Oxygen OS (or Poco/Oppo/Realme) implements it?

Dan, 13 Apr 2021I see this phone today on demo unit in a store . It is fast... moreNot much different than the iPhone 12 displays. And look how much those cost.

The iPhone 12 has a display with 1170x2532 pixels. And costs around $879 for the 128GB version.
The S21 has a display with 1080x2400 pixels. But much cheaper at around $620 for the 128GB version.

Even if I could get an Apple iphone 12 free I wouldn't use it. I would need to be paid to just consider using an Apple iphone 12. I'll take my Samsung S21 Android phone any day over an Apple iphone 12.

The $300 out of pocket I paid for my launch 256GB unlocked S21 was easily well worth it.

Samsung S-series were allways known for best Display quality since the first i9000 S1 , every year they eather update display next year , or at least mentain the same , but they never downgrade display until now. I think they forget S21 and S21 plus are supose to be flagships , not only S21 Ultra.

The S21 has a faster SoC, faster storage, and faster memory. And then if you are using 120hz with the S20 you are using the same resolution as the S21 anyway. Then subjectively the S21 flat screen is better than the S20 curved screen.

Even if the S20 were free I wouldn't have taken it. I would have still payed the $300 for my S21 unlocked with 256GB of storage. Since for what I want, it is a much better phone. The only detriment for me between the two is the lower rez screen of the S21. But then if you run at 120Hz anyway on the S20, then I don't see where the advantage is. Since it's running at the resolution of the S21 screen anyway.

How many phones have that? That is nowhere near the norm for a screen of that size. And it would add a bunch of weight and thickness to the phone.

Personally, I almost never fast charge a phone. 99% of the time it sits on a wireless charger over night and slow charges. I specifically use a power supply that won't let it fast charge. So I am in no rush to charge it quickly. I did that with my S6, S8, S10, and now with my S21.
