Anonymous, 10 Mar 2022Doesnt the new SOC get hotter than S21 So far, My S22 has not gotten hot. It has gotten slightly warm a few times, after running benchmarks. But it has basically behaved just like my S21 did.

Now my S10. That would sometimes get hot. Hot where I would need to remove it from my pants pocket. But I never saw anything like that with my S21. And, so far, not with my s22 either.

The newer SoC is certainly much faster than the S10 SoC. For me, the only negative was the lower resolution screen. But all the other benefits outweighed that one negative.
But if you really want a higher resolution screen, you would need to keep the S10 or upgrade to the S22 Ultra.

But another reason I like the S22 is the size. Since I can easily use it with one hand.

I am wondering whether it is worth trading up to the s22. Since you have had both I'd love to know your thoughts. Is there that much difference or improvement between them?

No idea why you have had those issues. I had none of those with my S21 or S22.

I've had no Always on display while charging with my S21 or S22.
No lag when using the camera on my S21 or S22.
The Samsung store is on my phone but there is nothing making me use it. I use the google play store and the Google play store is what comes up automatically on my S21 and S22.
The Samsung store never pops up automatically. I need to select it. And I might open it up only a couple of times a year.
I've also had no problems switching apps on my S21 or S22..
And the Battery has always lasted me all day. On both my launch S21 and launch S22.

All those things you mentioned, I don't have those issues on my Galaxy S phones.
So maybe something is wrong with your phone?

My S21 was easily the best galaxy S phone I owned. Until I got my S22 last week. Now the S22 is easily the best Galaxy S phone I have owned. (I've owned the S6, S8, S10, S21, and now S22)

The worst phone I ever owned:
Samsung really ruins the android experience. How can you rid it of all the Samsung crap? Who asked for it in the first place? Example: Why do I have to look at another stupid always-on-display while charging if I anyway have AOD generally on? Why do I need Samsung store, gallery, free, pass, etc. when all of that can be provided by native android?
Gestures are working terribly bad. Previous Pixel phones had no trouble switching between apps, the S21 _always_ first recognises scroll-up followed by switch app. Just sucks because this hurts almost all interaction with the phone.
Despite being a top-of-the-line there is plenty of lag, particularly in the camera app, but also elsewhere.
Battery is really poor, not managing a full day. A previous Pixel 4 with a presumed worse battery is in reality longer lasting!
It is my second Samsung but definitely the last.

I went from S10e to S21 same resolution, better battery, bit bigger 5g so was a win for me.

It's been since since. Coming from ColourOS 11 it doesn't feel quite as fluid on first impression.

Better than S22 reality lol 😂

Great hardware, sh8t software. Tested the one ui 4.0 on my partner's s21 and it stutters and lags like crazy, I would have to be insane to pay money for this device. I own a oneplus 8t, and it feels like a 2025 device in comparison :))

I'll update my S9 once Samsung reinstates Samsung Health with all the sensors on the new phones. I think to many those features are worth a lot more than a minor camera upgrade.
