Loved using this phone for years, especially it's great camera. The ONE UI 6.1 update that was released bricked my phone. Worked great until the update and then it would start to crash every few minutes with a system process/System UI not responding message, especially if I tried to use the camera, messages, or navigate the home screen. I kept holding out for a patch and after 2 factory resets, maintenance mode, and safe mode and another month of frustration, the phone doesn't even turn on anymore. The buttons are all unresponsive, and if on the off chance it actually turns on it will get sucked into a Tmobile/Samsung Logo boot loop for a half hour before causing the screen to go black or for it to enter partition downloader mode. Was a great phone and Samsung has proved to be an incredibly unreliable company for finding a solution. Each person I speak to says I should just upgrade my phone and buy a new Samsung model rather than helping me or relaying info to developers. Going back to a Pixel phone because I'm sick of dealing with this company.

Nonar, 21 Jun 2024Is this phone ok in 2024? I want to upgrade from my m14 but... moreyo my dude, i got this back in feb 2024 and my experience has been amazing. I dont game on it but aside from that i do multitask use multiple apps on the same screen have apps running in the background and stuff, the performance and power of this processor paired with 8gb ram has not disappointed me once. No lag or crashes in my use. I am pretty sure it can run the most demanding of games with no issue. I'd say most of the new phones with better processors are heavily limited by the software which fails to catch up and take use of the power the processor can put out.
the camera is going to be a lot better than other New phones in this price, perhaps even better than new phones well above this price point. It's certainly good enough for my use.
The edge to edge display with the amazingly thin bezels and overall design still keeps up in todays day. the amoled i believe is also not much different from todays flagships, aside from the maximum brightness.
The only one con i can come up with is its battery life, i havent timed it but id say it gives me around 6 hrs of use or may be more, i really cant say. but it does have good enough fast charging so idont really mind. It takes around 2hr to fully charge without fast charging and with it on 1hr 15min.
the one thing you really need to consider is that this phone will no longer recieve software updates,security updates will still be offered for 2 more years ig. But i dont really mind not recieving software updates.
Having used this i truly believe i made the right decision buying this

Held one of these today... Very great plastic. That and the small screen felt amazing.
