8K video is the dumbest idea ever in a phone. it was perfect at 4K 60fps, that was all we needed, but nooo samsung just had to come out and put a damn 8K option in the camera settings and guess what, it would look pure trash on a phone screen

Action.Pretty, 11 Jan 2021So this phone is estimated to cost £765 in the UK (who are ... moreForgot to mention its direct rival would be the s21+, it's just silly now :)))

So this phone is estimated to cost £765 in the UK (who are we kidding, probably more). I got my Oneplus 8T 12/256 for £452 on 11.11 ali sale. This phone blows Samsung out of the water.

I want to switch to Samsung to stop supporting chinese products but it's so hard when this product charges like my 2017 huawei mate 10 :( No non chinese brand is supporting REAL fast charging and it's a damn shame.

[deleted post]To be honest, I think 128GB is more than enough for me, I don't install too many apps so the S21 isn't a problem for me.

zamroni1, 09 Jan 2021In your example, the cause isn't resolution. Samsung ... moreLet s be honest . When the first s-series came out it was the first super amoled display that atracked you to buy it . When i see that screen for the first time i knew i had to have one .
And still another producers can have quality display , but no one can have Samsung display quality ,me for exemple that is why i buy Samsung . They had 1440p resolution from s6 . So now they wanted to make 1080p to an s-series ? Now that they have S ultra as a biggest flagship , they forget that S-eries are not medium or low end smartphones and put them 1080p? Serios? If you say that you don t notice the difference that means that you don t want to notice the difference .

Honestly, I hope that Samsung doesn't try to pull a Note20 and make the S21 and S21+ suck. So far, thank god, the leaks have shown that some of the specs are normal, but the back is plastic, not glass. I don't have a problem with plastic, as it's on my Pixel 4a 5G, but as long as the specs aren't compromised, I'm fine. Samsung may just be using plastic to drive down costs because of the new Snapdragon 888 chip.

Alex, 08 Jan 2021Unlikely because of SD slot. Most of other flagships don... moreWe don't need sd card, but they (Samsung) could do 256gb default storage for all s21 models.. But with 128gb is meh..

Alex, 08 Jan 2021That's why they have camera bumps now - to be able to ... moreWell, they all have camera bumps in addition to thickness. S20/S21 are quite thin. Mi10U is thick and has a double bump.

The comment about Mi10U was mainly because of 1.4µm pixel size in 2x camera. That should help with low light photography. If it is poorly implemented that's a different story.

The sensor in N20U resembles one in iPhone 12 Pro - 12 MP 1.0µm. Apple does not use it for night mode. I guess pixel size is not enough (high SNR?) and/or stabilization is weak on the lenses size. At 5x it should be even harder to implement hand-held night mode.
Anyway, I don't want to see such zoom sensor in S21. 1.0µm is not cool for 12MP. On the other hand this 64MP replacement has not made things better either.

Also, the bump on N20U is horrendous. Worst thing I've seen. Even stupid bump on iPhones is better.

Who in his right mind will buy S21...?

Even S10 is preferable as S21.
I will keep my S20 for at least one more year...

I have a s10e with FHD display ... moreeither way u r viewing a super high res video, be it 1080p or 1440p, it wont look good on either. 4K on ultra would mean u would have to sacrifice refresh rate down to 60hz otherwise the battery would run out in a snap. i don think 8K is good idea on phones, they can leave that to Cinema cameras or professional cameras like RED and others. 4k 60fps was perfect, 4K 120fps was also good, but 8K, bad move. if they want 8K video on a phone, they might as well put a 4K screen on it or view it on a 4K - 8K tv/monitor

I have a s10e with FHD display and a friend of mine has s10 plus with 1440p and i can see the diference betwin them . His phone quality looks better than mine. I buy s10e because of his size , i don t trade for a bigger phone because i don t like bigger phones. But that is not the point , the point is that i can see the diference betwen 1440p and 1080p . Yes FHD is ok for people who buy low and medium price smartphones . But when you have FHD on a flagship it is not ok .This smartphone can record 8k video and an 8k video played on a fullhd is not ok . A client who has s10 or s20 will never buy s21 with a lower resolution .
In my opinion s21 and s21 plus should have 1440p and ultra 4k .

I don't get your reasons for praising Mi 10 Ultra 2x zoom. I forced myself to go read its review and look at the samples: it's detail loss at 2x is terrible at daylight, becoming totally unusable at night. Night Mode changes it from "OMG awful" to "just bad". Main camera has significant detail loss at daylight too. Ultrawide night performance is as bad as 2x zoom. The only impressive camera there is 5x tele: it somehow manages to keep good photo quality at night, adding just some reasonable noise.
