Anonymous, 02 Oct 2022Compared to the Ultra, this phone is laughable, like a toy ... moreYou said the screen is blurry like it was 720p, or had a matte screen protector.
Samsung even changed the pixels arrangement to make it sharper than usual 1080p OLED panels so I don't understand what you're saying.
Cameras are quite similar, except for the extra 10x optical zoom of the Ultra, get brighter/sharper photos/videos from the 3x optical zoom, front camera and 108 MP mode has more details and a night mode for low light.
You probably have a defective unit if the difference is bigger, also the Exynos seems to have a lottery of bad chips which could possibly cause the lag and bad camera output.

mehdi, 02 Oct 2022Sorry, but I wonder if you didn't get a counterfeit s... moreNope. I bought this phone the same place i bought the Ultra. A1 in Croatia which is an official store, not some shady back alley store that sells second hand phones and what not
Normally i'd blame Exynos like i do for all the issues i face on Samsung's phones knowing how bad their chip is but i can't this time because the Exynos Ultra worked fine
But whatever, i got the phone and it's too late now. I'll keep it for about a year and then get the S23 Ultra. Maybe i can sell this one, trade it or whatever

        >> The screen is terrible. Blurry as all hell and i can literally see the pixels!
No way . The only thing that could make it blurry is a cheap screen protection.
And it's nearly impossible to see any pixels.

        >> It lags and stutters like crazy,
        No way.

        >> I compared it to the Ultra side by side and there was such a huge difference
No. I wasn't even convinced by the difference of the cams.

Compared to the Ultra, this phone is laughable, like a toy
I bought the Ultra back in July but because it was so big, heavy and overall really uncomfortable to hold and use i decided to give it to my wife while i went and bought the plus for myself. The basic version was too small and this one was the right size
Thing is they put all of their attention and effort into the Ultra while they quickly scrambled together parts and pieces to make the plus
The screen is terrible. Blurry as all hell and i can literally see the pixels! It lags and stutters like crazy, something that the Ultra never did despite having the exact same processor. Crazy isn't it? And the camera is laughable. I compared it to the Ultra side by side and there was such a huge difference it's like i'm comparing a 10 year old phone with the Ultra
This phone is a scam. It has plus in its name but it resembles more of a lite. An fe if you will. Hell, it's not too far away from the A series. A $1000 mid range phone
Anyway, i learned my lesson. If you wanna buy a flagship, only go for the Ultra

Shadocx, 02 Oct 2022I assume you're hiding the punch hole that's why ... moreI try to hide the punch hole whenever i can because it's really distracting on a brighter background. But because it's so big and positioned low it makes the bar too thick. For comparison the bar is normal on the S22
And yes, no 256 gb in my country. Just 128
As for the ratio, i'll visit a store later and compare it to my S22 plus. See if it's 19:9 or 20:9

Anonymous, 01 Oct 2022The S21 FE was my first consideration but there are way too... moreI assume you're hiding the punch hole that's why it cuts off a large portion of the screen.
A 256 GB option exists, but maybe not available in your country/shop.
Nope, the S21 FE is 19.5:9 like the S22/+, a lot of sites and YouTubers wrote the wrong infos, I noticed it by myself when someone compared the S22 and the S21 FE and was watching a full screen video, a 20:9 would cut a bigger portion of the video since it's a wider aspect ratio.
Then I checked Samsung FR, UK, US and HK specs sheet to make sure they all got the same infos, and they all say 19.5:9.
https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s21_fe_5g-10954.php :everything written here for the display size and resolution is wrong.
GSMArena also didn't write the USB version and the DeX compatibility as you can see.

In term of autonomy, we have this ranking (based on battery rating by this site):
                  S22 < S21 FE < S22 Plus < S22 Ultra
Also we have Exynos < Snapdragon.
So if you don't want the ultra, the S22 plus with Snapdragon is the "less disastrous" option for autonomy.

I have to charge it every day. Sometimes more.

Shadocx, 01 Oct 2022Maybe get the S21 FE, it's like a S22 Lite, same softw... moreThe S21 FE was my first consideration but there are way too many things i didn't like and i mean not some small issues but deal breakers
The plastic back is a deal breaker because i don't and have never used a case for my phone as i want to feel the build of the phones i use and not some rubber or plastic and the plastic back would easily get scratched
The punch hole is too big and distracting. It makes the top bar too thick and cuts off a large portion of the screen
Only came in 128 gb and with no expandable storage, it was an instant deal breaker
Btw the ratio of the FE is 20:9. Same as the S21 and S20. I prefer a smaller ratio, 19:9 is much better, heck i'd love if they bring back the 18:9 from the S8 and 9, but anyway the S22 felt like a decent phone and it is but the battery is abysmal

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2022Samsung doesn't sell the Snapdragon variant in Europe ... moreMaybe get the S21 FE, it's like a S22 Lite, same software support, 19.5:9 aspect ratio display, USB 3.2 with DeX.
                      The lite part are:
-inferior build quality but if you put a case on your phone the plastic back is not a big deal.
-inferior cameras but you still get a telephoto lens unlike some other phones with macro or depth, it takes pictures with great skin tones and 4k60 recording on front camera.
-display stay all the time at 120 Hz and waste battery but you can configure Bixby routines and make it drop the refresh rate to 60Hz based on scenarios.
-if you get a SD 888, it may be a little bit old but it's a better choice than the Exynos 2200 IMO.
-fingerprint scanner is positioned quite low and it's an optical one.
-the bezel at the bottom is bigger than the sides and top ones.
                      -no Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2 and UWB.

I already used an iPhone before so it won't be anything new to me

I just purchased the samsung s22+ online exlusive graphite 256 gb here in UK which is the Exynos 2200 version , i feel it pretty good in terms of battery and other aspects, nice 12hz screen good sound quality on internal speakers. I am not much of into gaming its only emails youtube videos, sometimes camera use and social media.Well it does everything nicely. It was a worth upgrade from my S10+ which also was an exynos chipset and i used it for 3 years and exchanged it for my new S22+.
