This unfortunately is the forgotten child of the S22 series. It's a very good phone but is side lined by S22 Ultra and the S23 that's why people don't talk much about it even in this forum there are no discussions about it which is pretty sad for such a decent phone like this. This is the perfect sized phone with great cameras, good battery life and tons of updates to follow but is still ignored!!

Sam799, 28 Jul 2023S23 is a better choice with an updated chipset, better batt... moreIt really doesn't matter as the battery drainage onboth the Samsung phones are the worst. In the end if you get 5% better battery in S23 then also the overall picture is still not good. Either Samsung optimizes their software or give a free powerbank with each device. Going for S23 rather then S22 doesn't give a better value it's just a generation update with very minor improvemebts at the cost of nearly double the price. If we look at the comparison of cost vs the improvements S22+ is better. Don't go for S23 unless you are completely switching from a mid segment and also if you dont have the budget.

Newbee, 25 Jul 2023I just ordered S22+ (Gen 1) for about $580 (Rs.47500 India)... moreHi.....I'm using S22+ for 1 year 3 months in India snapdragon variant......I'm getting more than 8 hours of SoT including 40 mins of BGMI gaming and I do play casual games too sometimes, other uses being social media, browsing, messaging and phone calls and camera I don't use on daily basis.....If u don't play games u will get more battery backup and besides I use standard 60hz mode and 4g cellular data.....things might be different If u use 120hz and 5g data.

I thought its only the exynos variants that have battery issues but after getting the snapdragon 8 gen 1 S22+ my doubts were cleared and I came to a conclusion that the former has better battery life than the latter. Without playing games or multi-tasking or glued to the phone 24 hrs I get something like 4-4.5 hours of SOT that too with standard refresh rate, all crappy apps put to deep sleep and it's literally pathetic!!! Everything else is great about this phone except the main thing--BATTERY.

Newbee, 25 Jul 2023I just ordered S22+ (Gen 1) for about $580 (Rs.47500 India)... moreIt's a very good phone no doubt about it but the battery life is pretty average. I've used SD version of Samsung after a long time as exynos was the only choice I had in my region but it hasn't been great in terms of battery life. I don't have any heating issues on my phone as I don't play games on it, my Samsung tab is used for that purpose, I mainly use my phone for social network, Whatsapp calls, YouTube videos and of course camera which is really good still I get around 4-5 hours of sot which I think is pretty disappointing. Hope they fix the battery issue with future updates.

I just ordered S22+ (Gen 1) for about $580 (Rs.47500 India). But after reading the comments and little bit browsing, I worry about Battery & heating issues. Whether the issue still persists? Pl. Advice me. I don't play games. I need min 5-6 hrs of SOT and good standby.
