Standby time is improved, and also battery drain. The difference is noticeable. Screen on time is also improved. All these benefits from a bit larger battery and new chipset.

It would seem odd not to have it on all... moreIt's standard in international S23 models/releases with dual nano SIM slots and an eSIM -that is, no 'mute shutter sound' option available or visible in the settings of Samsung's default camera app. The only way to mute the shutter sound is to put your S23/S23+/S23 ultra (international models) to silent or vibrate mode.

        Japanese smartphone releases regardless of phone brand (Samsung, Pixel, and yes, even iPhones), do not have any option or workaround to mute the shutter button at all - either through the camera app settings or through putting the phone in vibrate or silent mode. Shutter will always sound off LOUDLY in Japanese phone releases regardless of any phone settings. It's due to Japanese law prohibiting silent shutter operation in any smartphone manufactured/released specifically for their market.

                No idea about the S21 FE. But, for years, my regular Galaxy S phones(S22, S21, etc.) have had the ability to disable the shutter sound. In the camera settings.

Which is the gear icon, on the top left in portrait mode (bottom left in landscape), of the camera app. Near the bottom of the settings page there is an option labeled "Shutter sound". You can toggle it on/off.

                        Of course there is. I've been using Samsung Galaxy S phones for years. I can't even remember the last time I heard a shutter sound. I always have it turned off in the camera settings. There is a toggle, in the camera settings, to turn it on/off.

                        There is no need to put your phone in silent mode to turn off the shutter sound. The option to turn off the shutter sound is right there, in the first page of the camera settings.

                        The sounds on my phone are turned on. But I will never hear the camera shutter sound. Since I always have it turned off, in the camera settings.

If you put your phone on silent mode, Samsung camera shutter will also be silent. You cannot set camera shutter sound independently of the phone settings.

                              Just bought S23+ 8/256 made in Vietnam. I already own S22+. So far,camera is clearly better, tested both phones,S23+ takes sharper and clearer images. S22+ on same photos,can see blur when zoomed in,and a lot of blur,and distortions... Snapdragon really does have better image processing. Battery also seems better,but will need time to confirm.

                                While Xiaomi is giving whole. lot of Themes/ wallpapers for free and
                                even giving 148 different fonts of English Language for use in the system for free whereas in Samsung Galaxy S23+ only 4-5 fonts are provided for free.
                                Why Samsung why Samsung cannot provide for free after charging such a hefty price initially.
                                It seems made a mistake in switching after 5years from Xiaomi to Samsung. Only minor difference is there in performance/speed but MiUi is a lot better.
                                I am still searching to stop the Shutter Sound in the Camera of S23+
