aaronwt, 22 Jan 2023Who pays the retail price for these out of pocket? I never ... moreRealistically for most people, its almost impossible to get such deals. Trade-ins is really good but people coming from midrange or low-end phones cant do that. Its easier said than done. If it was the case, more people would upgrade by trade-ins.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2023Samsung released Galaxy A23 5G with single rear camera, IP... moreWas it just released in Japan? My GF has a Samsung Galaxy A23 5G, she got it here in the US.

It's also a slow phone, when compared to the Galaxy S Series. My GF really likes it. But for me, I could not go from using a Galaxy S phone to the A23. It is just way too slow for me.

[deleted post]Just like most other phones. Especially Apple phones. So what is the problem? The retail price is always way more than the phone actually costs or should cost. This is nothing new. I would hope most people don't pay the retail price for the phone. Just like any other electronic device. You can typically get them for less than the retail price. Plus, you can get cash back by other means, further reducing your cost.

[deleted post]Who pays the retail price for these out of pocket? I never have. For the base S series, I typically get them at launch for around $250 to $300 out of pocket, after trade in and cash back. Plus, I get the credits that come with the pre-order deals. That you can use in the Samsung store.

Still deciding if I will get the S23+. Supposedly, the base S23 doesn't have UWB again. Like the s22. If that turns out to actually be the case, then I will need to get the S23+. Even though I really don't want a screen that large. So I'm not sure what my out of pocket cost will be for the S23+.

Worst case, I switch back to two-year upgrade cycles. I always get three or four years no interest, directly from Samsung, anyway. I've just always paid it off within a year. But if I switch back to two-year upgrade cycles. Then I will just pay off the no interest financing within two years instead.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2023S23, s23 plus should have resolution of 1440 megapixel, s 2... moreWhy? The base Galaxy S phone and plus variants haven't had a 1440 screen since the S20.
And I would never get the Ultra with a 1440 screen because it doesn't have flat screen and it is way too large.

I would rather save the $100 with a lower resolution screen. I can see the difference in resolution between the two. But, in normal use, it makes no difference to me. Plus the lower resolution screen is also better for battery life. The Pixels Per Inch density is very good even with a 1080 screen. Certainly way higher than you have with any monitor or TV.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2023Dude the point is not if it is enough or not four you. The ... moreThose people can get a different phone then. My only concern going from my Galaxy S10 to a Galaxy S21 was the lower screen resolution. Bu tin the end, the lower resolution was fine. And the screen was much better since it could hit much higher nits.

FOr people that want 12GB of RAM, Samsung is pushing them to buy the Ultra. SInce that is the only version that has an option for12GB of RAM. For most people they either don't know or don't care or don't even know about it.

For me, it would make zero difference in the use of my Galaxy S phone. Whether I have 12GB or 8GB of RAM. From a user perspective, with how I use my Galaxy S phones, there will be no difference at all between the 8GB or 12GB versions.
