S23 will be the last pure vanilla S series phone. After S24 phones, exynos will spoil the series completely with it's heater and throttler.

For what it's worth, I strongly believe this is the phone of the year, and here's why:
Most people cannot afford to belt out over a thousand to get a new phone. Even if they do, they will fret every step of the way not to break their investment. With the vanilla model, you can get it for about 500 dollars right now; or, you can easily swap it for a lower financial investment, and still get a good phone.
It's small enough that you can easily handle it with one hand, it is light, and it fits your pocket/purse perfectly. We are conditioned to believe that bigger phones are somewhat more superior, but until a few years ago, 6" was a standard.
It has an amazing display that does not shift colour at the lowest angle possible, does not rainbow band, is laminated properly, produces well controlled (not the same as accurate) colours, which are pleasing to the eye. When you have a bigger screen, you will often struggle to find content that always looks good on your device; whereas, on a smaller screen, it will look perfect almost every time.
Given this particular cpu, you get awesome performance, low discharge currents (great battery), and very low temperatures at high loads. This phone works great now, and will continue to work great for years to come.
The cameras are more than capable, especially given the processing capabilities of the said cpu and the software trickery coming from Samsung themselves. Even the zoom itself remains plenty sharp at 10x.
The software is uniform and very snappy. You get a smooth experience when navigating through the phone, you have customization options for every element, and every app can connect to another piece of the Samsung ecosystem.
I understand that there are other phones out there that have individual features which are better, but this is the phone that offers the full package at a fairly low price, for what it is.

From the first minutes when I opened the box and started using the phone, the part on the right side of the camera block started heating up. This happens mainly when using the camera. Although it is not very hot, I think this is not normal for a newly purchased phone. If anyone has encountered this situation, please respond.

Mad4Mobile, 08 Dec 2023Hope this is not the only way available. There must be som... moreAs the Mandalorians say "This is the way". There is no other way that is as accurate as this since this is the actual 100-1% usage. All others are using at least partial estimates. And also, do not believe that this harms the battery more than the frequent charging between 25-80%. Frequent charging at just partial is actually more harmful to the battery since it literally wears it faster.
It's actually a prevalent lie that people believe like plastic containers that are "safe" as microwavable, plastics are harmful when heated. And also same as the prevalent lie that LED lights produce less heat, LED lights require heatsink because they do produce heat.

I've had the S23 since June this year. My experience until the last upgrade had been great. After that the phone refuses to connect with my car's BT for music, phone-calls come through the car's system no problem. I'm currently trying with Samsung support to sort it out. Other than the software (I think it's software) issue I've noticed the screen develops small scratches very easily. I'm very careful with how I use the phone but that hasn't helped. This new iteration of Gorilla glass is supposed to be the hardest yet, still, compared with my old A5 which screen is spotless, it already doesn't look good. I hope Samsung works on this as it's a shame top range phones to require screen protectors.
