A friend told me Samsung phones tend to get slow faster as they age, although she has observed this with their midrange models only so far. My brother said the same thing. They both speak from personal experience. Not sure in the case of Samsung's flagship phones though. The only thing I'm sure of is nothing beats iPhone's longevity. As someone who's been comparing these phones for a time now, the way I see it, S23's only edge over the iPhone 13 Pro is its lighter weight and the fact you could currently buy it brand new.

Hey guys, I'd like to get a s23 too...(My Zenfone 5z is 5 yrs old...I'm keeping it as backup phone..Super phone!) I'd like to ask if switching to 60Hz the display makes that huge difference in terms of power saving ......My only concern for s23 is about battery life......Thank you

Those functions tries to reduce stress on device and give longer lifespan.
If you are going ro keep the same phone for more than 3 - 5 year then you can consider using those options as those will help you to expand lifespan of your phone.

Every person that wants a small and compact budget phone should call Samsung and politely notify them that if such a device becomes available, they will purchase it. Otherwise, they will look at other manufacturers, since they can't afford an expensive S-series phone.
If enough people do so, Samsung will see it's in their financial interest to start producing such phones again for this segment of the customer base.
