Got this phone on New Year's Eve, coming from A52s. I've gone for the black (Graphite), 256GB version (because 128GB is cutting it close for my need, and it doesn't have external storage). I'm not from the US so I got the Exynos version. Comes with Android 13 (OneUI 5.1.1) which I already upgraded to Android 14 (OneUI 6) and the latest December 1st security patch. I bought this phone bundled in with a (basically) free Galaxy Buds FE for the equivalent of roughly 560 USD.
My takeaways:
a) Quite a heavy phone indeed, trust me you will feel it if you stuff it into your pocket.
b) Battery life isn't that great, that much is true, but honestly its not that bad. I would call myself a "moderate" user. I play games moderately (mostly Arknights, but I also play Nikke and Honkai Star Rail as well) with low graphic settings but I always aimed for smooth 60FPS experience (which I easily get with this phone). I also installed Game Booster Plus, performance options set to "Focus on performance", and disabling Frame Booster settings (to disable frame interpolation). General settings wise, I use dark mode, standard performance profile in Device Care menu, Always on Display only enabled when charging, adaptive screen refresh rate, disabling adaptive brightness, with a Routine set up so whenever I'm sleeping for the night the phone automatically goes to power saving mode (all power saving settings are enabled, love this Routine feature, thanks Samsung!). I'm getting 8 to 8:15 hours screen on time on average.
c) For thermals, imo I think its manageable. I think the stuff people saying about how Samsung fitted a better cooling solution for this model, looks like that is working for this phone just fine. Where I live, the average temp for the day is between 27 to 32 degrees Celcius. I installed PerfZ so I can monitor the phone's internal temperature (especially during gaming). Whenever it goes above 40, I stop to let the phone cool down for few minutes. Sure you can take it beyond 40 (from what I've seen, it will throttle its performance once it reaches 45 degrees Celcius, but honestly its common for phones to do that), but I just dont want to let my phone get too hot whenever possible. I have a 3 dollar clip-on phone fan, and with that on I usually can keep the phone temp at or below 40 during my gaming sessions, though that's on around 28 degrees Celcius ambient temperature. With my settings, If you game in a room with AC on or live in colder climate than me, the thermal should not give you any problem (unless you really maximize the game settings). When not gaming, the phone temp is manageable even on higher ambient temperature.
d) The conclusion? I'm satisfied with this product. My first ever flagship (?) level phone. It has DeX (which I sometimes use), great camera and software (OneUI honestly is the GOAT), and wireless charging. The Exynos 2200 actually delivers ample performance (especially gaming), so don't get too discouraged by it. And using Smart Switch, I basically have the phone ready to go in 15 minutes from unboxing (with all my device settings intact from my A52s) so I don't have to spend my time re-tweaking all over (yay for ecosystem). Was thinking of Zenfone 10 or ROG Phone 7, but decided to stick with Samsung. The bundled in Buds FE also is a nice touch, love that thing too. If you can get this phone on a deal (discounted/bundled with something like I did), its a great phone. Which, with S24 series on the horizon, price cuts should be expected, which makes this phone has fewer competitors that you might think, especially with the Samsung flagship experience that you will get from this S23 FE (or you can just say its an A54 whenever someone asked what phone is it, embrace the meme).

lilly , 08 Jan 2024for a man Indigo (for 256GB) and Tangerine (for 128GB) color are great, it's exclusive from Samsung first party online store. But any color will do, black is a bit different because the phone is fully black all around the phone including the frame and back camera rings. Any other color has silver frame and camera rings. I think it's more stand out if you have their exclusive color.

Have been using this for few months now, coming from A53
for the original price, skip this, but if you able to get this with deals, this is a killer phone (I got mine for roughly 475usd, 128gb)
sure the phone is using the notorious inefficient old flagship soc, and it might be heavy and have thick bezels, but I don't know where you can find a phone at this price range with wireless charging, great haptic, speedy performance with 3 actually useful lens (looking at you, macro lens), and with long software support
as for the battery and thermal, my work around is enabling light performance mode and battery saving capping cpu at 70% (I know, dumb, disabling 120hz but I don't need it), so far no overheating issues and the battery is maybe a tad bit weaker than A53 with same battery saving setup (except light mode)
so yeah it's a great phone for the discounted price, I enjoy it

It's a nice phone for it's price. But why is Samsung not coming with a charger in the box?, if they're not putting the headphone they should at least come with a charger in the box.

Everyone's babbling on about this being terrible, as a galaxy S10 user this is a beautiful phone, the performance looks fantastic. I've only ever seen a 50Mp sensor once in person and it's not even actually 50mp. And the design is so beautiful, the colours and the shape is great. Take it for what it is, a great phone for an affordable price. Google pixel 8 is same price at a discount of £500 and my S10 is faster in performance and that's it. Great phone, would love to buy it.

CamoGeko-XDA, 02 Jan 2024This phone looks so bland and boring, no thanks! It has beautiful colours, flat on both sides making the colours beautiful pop out. White frames and fantastic performance, camera, battery and screen all for £600 and £130 off on a good condition Galaxy s20ultra and above.

I actually like the Galaxy S23 FE! Honestly the specs are not bad at all for the price and I got one for free cause I hadn't gotten an upgrade in a few years so my phone company just sent it to me to try out and its great! Screen looks great! A very close look to my old phones 1440p screen. 8GB of ram is pretty good and its Samsung so you know the ram is top quality! The Snapdragon 8 cpu is blazing fast and gets the friggen job done. The adreno 730 gpu is alright but not top of the line anymore so its not gonna compete with the S24 but it can still play any game you throw at it with settings to max so that's really nice to see for such a cheap phone! Has all glass covering with a metal frame so it feels great in hand. 3 camera setup is nice and I like how the pictures look, very vibrant and full of colour! Battery can last 9 hours with gaming, web surfing and texting/calling the whole time and the quick charge is great if you have a 25W charger on hand. I think its a great phone for being a few hundred dollars cheaper than the S23 regular and I'm glad to have the S23 FE as my daily driver.

It's crazy how this phone has a much smaller screen than the S22 plus and yet it's taller, wider and heavier
These designers need to be fired
