Mihael, 05 Apr 2024What is so great about this update. Please tell me??Animations are better and more fluid. Responsivness in general is better, I constantly use some AI features. Circle to search, keyboard AI are super helpful. And other small things. Overall really good update.

Hello,
I have been using a Samsung S23 Ultra for the past five months, and I have noticed that the power button seems to be getting loose. I am concerned that if it falls out, water may get inside the phone from the power button area.

After One UI 6.1 there is no way to hide the bottom bar anymore?? I had it hidden, and had full screen for apps. Now there is thick black bar taking space no matter where I am (settings etc.). Thanks for ruining it Samsung. Btw. it worked perfectly, everything worked when it was hidden.

I’ve had a S23U for a week, coming from a Pixel 7 Pro. Here are some of my thoughts:
The good:
- performance is ofc excellent. Occasional stutters here and there but nothing problematic
- battery life is great, no matter what you are doing. You can be on wifi or on cellular, watching a video or playing games and still see little difference in terms of battery draw
- the s-pen is nice to have. I like writing lists with it bc it feels better than typing them
- good pictures outside with good details, especially for landscapes
- One UI is kinda nice. More customization options than on my P7P. Although there was a lot of bloatware on the phone, it could mostly be removed
The bad and not so good:
- the pictures lack some dynamic range. Windows usually look almost all white when you take pictures inside
- it’s pretty hard to get usable pictures of moving subjects (ie kids) inside as they almost always come out blurry (ive tried playing with processing speed and different parameters but it changes little)
- the 50 and 200MP modes are unusable for taking pictures of human subjects. The samsung processing always colors parts of the skin in orange. (and it’s been like that since release, apparently)
- the phone feels really big and boxy in my medium sized hands, significantly bigger than my P7P
- the display’s color accuracy doesn't keep up very well with the brightness increase outside
- nitpicky here but I wish there was a battery health % in the parameters, like on the iphones
Overall, a bit disappointed by the camera capabilities on this phone. I feel like my P7P would clearly be my prefered phone if it had the same chipset. I know I could install Gcam on the S23U but I can’t take the risk of installing apps from non-official sources on my phone
