The normal version is for someone who want compact phone. I had S22 and S23 in my hands i love the design because it feel more compact that my S20 5G ( 6.2 inch). But the screen quality is not same , QHD is QHD. Even on 5 inch i can see the difference because when you watch a video or play a game on your phone you stand very close to it. If you buy a phone on that budget and you use it for social media i understand that you can t see the difference.

          Anonymous, 09 Jan 2024Say that to S20 , S10 , S9 , S8 , S7 . S6 edge . S6. I do ... moreFor a 6.2" screen, FHD+ is fine. It's only when the screen's at least 6.5" would people complain. Plus, since the battery here is small, FHD+ would've saved a lot more battery than QHD+. That's one part Samsung cut costs at to reduce the price of S21 from S20.

(bonus info) Plus, S24+ is getting a QHD+ screen with 256gb base at the same price, isn't it great?

I think Samsung lost the way with the Galaxy S series years ago... They used to be leaders in innovation, but since S6 I only seem functions being removed: the IR blaster, the light-based beaming of barcodes, the SpO2 sensor...

Anonymous, 09 Jan 2024Not a mid range display. Better than iphone 15 display. T... moreNope. iPhone 15 has higher resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels so is slightly crispier and deeper blacks and has higher 461ppi compared to 416ppi of s24. S24 has higher 120hz.

I do agree that FHD is fine. When you pay 200-300$ for it it can be fine. At that budget you are ok with just fine ?
The most important thing is when they downgrade screen resolution and people say nothing because they don t notice when they buy a high end smartphone to put it on table and brag for it and use it on social media. I know people that buyed S21 , S22 , S23 and not single one person knew that has lower resolution.
If your boss at work with tell you that you have to work 10 hors on a day instead 8 and you will recive the same salary will be ok ?
This is the same thing when you say that is fine to pay more for a feature less device.

Anonymous, 09 Jan 2024Not a mid range display. Better than iphone 15 display. T... moreFirst I never understand why you compare Comparing apples and... pears.
Some people prefer apples , some prefer pears. , some people prefer android , some people prefer ios. I hate ios but that doesn t mean that isn t good , just that is not good for me. Even i don t like ios i have to admit that with low specs it works very fast. And ios device with 6gb ram is fast. And android device with 6gb is low end because is very slow.
I say that as a Samsung user ( i have s20 5g) , i was using Samsung long before android existed.
Second you can t say a FHD Screen is high end. FHD 120hz oled and 8gb ram is on xiaomi that cost 250$. My s20 5g has 563 pixel density , my last S10 has 550 pixel density.
Before S10 g973 i had s10e g973 with the same cpu , same gpu , but had only 6gb ram and FHD screen and the screen was noticeable. And 6gb was really slow.
People care about a 10$ charger and don t have any ideea that the screen quality has been reduce.

There will be a 12GB variant depending on region, most likely South Korea version, maybe Global as well.

Better than iphone 15 display. They both have the same pixel density (461ppi) and samsung has brighter display. And over all, the specs of the galaxy s24 is bettery than iphone 15.

Anonymous, 08 Jan 2024Mid range screen , mid range ram memory. So you are paying... moreI agree the memory and RAM is subpar for the price but the screen is okay, midrange phones don't have LTPO and 2600 nits brightness. At 6.2 inches, full HD+ is fine.

FHD and 8gb ram again ? Why update the S plus and the S base model remain the same ?
Is that hard to make a legit update from the S20 5G ?
