Geepoers, 15 Aug 2024Still no sd card slot? still no. Samsung losing market over thisThe problem isn't just with Samsung. Literally not one smartphone model from one of the major brands - within this price bracket - has a memory card slot. Hell, Xiaomi and Motorola this year have four models (each!) with no memory card slot out on the market right now that cost less than half as much as the S24FE is expected to. I understand your frustration, but spread the blame around to everyone who deserves it, not just one party.

What a joke, without card slot, with small battery and low end fast charging, absolutely no point in getting this garbage over previous generations of FE, where S20FE even better having card slot.
Waiting for the Samsung to cry about bad s24FE sails.

I don't have an issue with a virtual proximity sensor as long as it's just as snappy as the hardware variant. I like the idea of minimizing space taken by components, so I'm open minded. The issue is Samsung doesn't opt in for Virtual proximity sensors on their flagships.

That's like saying "optical fingerprint sensors are the future" all while neglecting that flagships are increasingly opting in for an ultrasonic sensors.

Will you be okay if Samsung & Qualcomm stopped making ultrasonic sensors & switched to optical ones across the premium segment?

They have been more and more reliable as time goes on and they will eventually trickle down into budget and entry-level phones.

If they add more than 500 price its already DOA.
But as i know samsung this will be like 700 eur initial price.

Deliond, 13 Aug 20245000mAh, 45W charge and physical proximity sensor or better... moresamsung galaxy 24 ultra free

5000mAh, 45W charge and physical proximity sensor or better yet nothing.

Lawand141, 13 Aug 2024Ip 67 -> ip 68 1000nits -> 1900 nits Exynos 1480 -&... moreIt all depends on whether the battery life will be better than A55. If you look at S23 FE, the battery life on that is really bad. A55 lasts 13 hours compared to only 8 hours on S23 FE.

If S24 FE actually scores good battery-wise then that will eliminate the S23 FE's biggest downside. The only downsides left in the FE series (compared to flagship) are:
                          - Optical fingerprint (vs ultrasonic)
                          - Virtual proximity sensor (vs hardware)
                          - nonuniform bezels
                          - No white colorway

I'm pretty sure they could fix all of these issues overnight without raising the price, but they probably want to keep those manufactured downsides alive in order to trick people into the S series. (The A05 has a hardware proximity sensor, white color option & a much more responsive side mounted fingerprint sensor)

same battery, bigger screen = even worse battery life

Ultra is expensive, that's the reason why FE exists.
