Samsung Galaxy S24+ review

Design, build quality, handling
The Galaxy S24+ is an oversized Galaxy S24, just like it is supposed to be. It has the same flat panels and flat frame and is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

The new Gorilla Glass Armor is exclusive to the S24 Ultra, and that is why the S24+ relies on the still very much flagship Victus 2 sheets. The metal frame has been upgraded and is now officially in version 2 - it has tougher drop and scratch resistance. The new flatter shape and matte finish also help elevate the design and feel.

The Galaxy S24+ is available in various new colors. Four widespread versions exist - Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet (ours), and Amber Yellow. But Samsung.com also offers the exclusive Sapphire Blue, Jade Green and Sandstone Orange.

We have already seen the Galaxy S24 in Amber Yellow, and now we meet the Galaxy S24+ in Cobalt Violet, and we underestimated those colors. Hugely. Don't judge them by the name, but go see them in person in a physical store - you may be as surprised how good they look in real life!

The Galaxy S24+ offers a slightly larger display inside the same shell as the Galaxy S23+. This is thanks to the new LTPO panel, which has thinner bezels. This means now you get a 6.7-inch (vs. 6.6-inch) screen of Quad HD resolution. It has a small punch hole for the 12MP AF selfie camera around the top.

The top speaker/earpiece has such a thin opening that we initially had trouble even spotting it.
Also invisible is the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner placed comfortably around the bottom. It is fast and reliable, with a large enough area. Be aware that its operation might be hindered by glass screen protectors.

The back design is quite clean, and there are no elaborate details around the cameras. Just like on many other Galaxies, the S24+ has three metal rings serving as small housings for each camera. They are sticking out of the back a bit.

The newly sculpted frame of the Galaxy S24+ is a welcome improvement as it helps the grip and boosts the overall handling experience. The Plus model is a large phone, yet not as large as the Ultra. It feels great in your hand and can still fit in most pockets. We also appreciate the fact that its weight is still under 200g.
Overall, we have no complaints about the Galaxy S24+ - in fact, it is a great phone as far as design, build and handling are concerned.

One gets a decent exynos 2400 CPU, but a miserable 5G modem, where one can expect for the 4G to gradually give way to 5G,in the next 7 years of the software support. Kinda bleak existence with such an important piece of technology in one's daily...

You got nice strategy in this case and hope people does the same thing. However, we have to take attention too about updates that device will receive in the future which sometimes create another issue that needs to be solved again with another brand ...
