Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra to feature a 50MP 3x telephoto camera

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra came with a 10MP 3x telephoto camera, which was rumored to be replaced with a 5x unit on next year's Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, reliable tipster Ice Universe says the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a 50MP 3x telephoto unit, which, if true, will be a significant upgrade over the 10MP 3x telephoto in terms of resolution.

Samsung is rumored to use the same 200MP sensor from the S23 Ultra on the S24 Ultra, while the 10x periscope unit is expected to come with minor improvements, but it's unclear if there will be any upgrades to the 12MP ultrawide unit.

Regarding the front-facing camera, Samsung is rumored to continue using the 12MP selfie shooter from the S23 lineup on the S24 series. However, we expect software-level optimizations from Samsung for improved selfies and video calls.

Hope this works like the iPhone 2x mode where they crop into the middle 12mp so it’s essentially a 3x and a 6x which would be a good intermediate between the 3x and 10x
