For the people that are hyped for this phone. What are the reason why? I mean, taking apart the fact that is thin, what are the reasons to choose this one over other phones around the same price? I'm not polemical, just simply curious

I still own mine in a drawer as a piece of collection.
I think i'll pre-order the S25 Edge, everyone has a charger or an external battery or some usb port to charge a phone anywhere nowadays in case of :
In car, plane, at work...

This slim, slimmer, slimmest craze is a total pile of crap. Just as in the late 90's, early 00's where there was a similar craze in the dumb-phone landscape where it faded away rather quickly (because of diminished usability/durability/battery performance...) this one will fade away as well. It's more of a fashion thing than something with real added value. Even worse, most people will tuck away these "slim" devices in an ugly case anyway and making it thicker again in the process so what's the point. Everywhere there are "compromises" to cramp everything inside. And of course you'll pay a lot more for a lot less, all for the sake of having a thin phone. Repair-ability will be 0. Basically it will be something like a "buy it", "use it", "brake it" and "throw it away" thing. Anyway, that's only my opinion. Everyone is free to like whatever they like, this included.

The main thing holding this phone back is the battery capacity and charging speed. If this phone came with a 5,500mah battery and 80w charging it would be perfect.
With how bad the battery life is on my phone which has the exact same battery (the S23), this phone's battery life is going to be absolutely terrible. After a year of use it will die halfway through the day, I'm telling you.
Samsung is dead to me. I have used them for 10 years, I am done with them because they don't care about phone enthusiasts anymore. The only phones worth buying through them are their ultra phones.

Remember when the rumors showed up about the iPhone 6 using a bigger 4.7 inch display, an aluminum design and thinner body? And then Samsung made the Galaxy Alpha with a 4.7 inch display, an aluminum frame and thinner body? By the way, it was 0.2mm thinner than the iPhone 6 to get ahead in that department. Even more impressive though, it weighed only 115g which was about the same weight as the smaller iPhone 5s with 4 inch display, though with a plastic back (but also a removable battery, in which case I‘m fine with plastic back at any price). This feels like the same thing going on again. I think it’s good to have some thinner options. And if history is anything to go by, 2026 will be flagships getting very thin, like in 2015.

in my honest opinion, if my budget is around a 1000 usd, i'd be better off with a magic 7 pro than going with an even further trimmed down s25 series phone. When i first examined the non-ultra s25 phones i was already flabbergasted with how specs got butchered compared to specs of s24 vs. s24u. and now there is an even more butchered down version? That is really impressive dude. Can't wait for the temp test of this inbred child of apple-ified samsung after i saw how hot the s25 was running. Samsung has fallen off

S25 much too small, S25 Ultra much too heavy, S25+ too heavy and average main camera.
I want a phone with big screen, low weight, and good main camera. Don't care about useless pixelized zoom. So this phone is perfect for me. If battery can last a day, i will get one as soon as it is launched.

Anonymous, 29 Mar 2025It's not just thickness ... look at the weight 162g . ... moreThe galaxy S25 is better.
More compact design
Same weight
Has a telephoto lens
Doesn't cost more
Better cameras (no one is gonna even realise it has a 200mp camera cuz it's probably not even going to be that good it's gonna be s20 ultra sort of performance. Expect it, it doesn't have a telephoto lens and we know galaxy S series are also known for very good moon shots.
