The Ultra has everything Samsung has to offer, while the Edge focuses on enthusiast-level thinness and lightness compared to the competition. They are not rival models, lol.

Because you don't understand what this device is. It's main objective is to be as thin as possible and it is + it's way lighter than other phones with same screen. If you want best what samsung has to offer buy ultra not enthusiasts "edge" phone.

The Tecno SPARK Slim, unveiled at MWC 2025, is currently the slimmest smartphone in the world, measuring just 5.75mm thick. It is also one of the lightest, weighing only 146 grams. Despite its thinness, the device boasts a 6.78-inch 3D Curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 5,200 mAh battery.

Anonymous, 18 May 2025Lol, they didn't even increase the charging speed to 4... moreThey still use 25 watt charger for 5000 mah battery and still charge fast. Using the same charger for 3900 mah battery will decrease charging duration on paper which would prove it by itself to be true in reality.

Poles, 19 May 2025I don't understand why the battery capacity is so low.... moreIt is about how long the device is used for a particular task. Let says in this case camera. How long are you going to use it daily? Nonstop for 2 hours? it is just "in case" but not represent our common usage. For a mobile people, they could get a powerbank with them. I could get what you were trying to say in your opinion but you have to think why Samsung did it. Would Samsung wanna ruin their reputation? In contrary, they wanna show public that they can use lower battery capacity with what we assume acceptable for the battery life nowadays.

Anonymous, 18 May 2025No silicon battery in a slim phone? Lol.Yeah...they could increase the capacity while keeping the same thickness. Probably it cost higher than common battery tech cause they need to do research and test before equpping it to their phone. They will wait and see sales of this model first then make decision whether it is good for their revenue to have such battery for their thin phone. As of now, there is still no opinion from user about its life. Could it last morethan a day? I had redmi 4x with 4000 mah battery that could last morethan a day for comparison. That said this particular model from Samsung would have equivalent potensial at least with the favor from its mature software and low energy consumption offered by its processor.

I don't understand why the battery capacity is so low. 3900mAh. They claims its a "Optimized" device but using this elite processor and this gigantic camera chips the battery drains faster. It will not be last half a day if used in its peak.

You shouldn't pay for the same price as the S25U if you're not getting the same features as the S25U.
That's my only argument to people who are still glazing and defending this phone.

Tbh it's just thin for the sake of being thin. It's still a large phone. S25 base version is actually much more compact, and in a practical way

The ones who are competing are now evolving backwards but increasing in price for what? Assurance? Well, it's their companies I guess.
In fact, I do think now that Apple and Samsung has the same owner and just uses their hate of one another and use it in advertisement for satisfaction on others. Cursed brands lmao.

Sammy0, 18 May 2025I find it sneaky that Samsung advertises the main camera as... moreSamsung isn't just sneaky, they are on the Edge of being scammers with this one, they even fooled most reviewers into thinking this and the Ultra have the same sensors but for an unknown reason the Edge takes wors pictures. Well, reason being it's a tiny sensor and the megapixels aren't helping it.

I find it sneaky that Samsung advertises the main camera as a 200mp, f1.7 setup while omitting the fact it has a markedly smaller sensor than the 200mp/f1.7 camera of the S25 Ultra (1/1.56" vs 1/1.3"). Without digging into the specs, people may wrongly assume the Edge has the same main camera of the Ultra and will produce similar results, which is not the case (the one youtuber I saw who compared both showed that the S25 Edge's camera produced consistently softer results).
