My Samsung Galaxy S5 goes 36 hours on one battery charge. I've put it in power saving greyscale mode and disabled many apps. In the power saving mode, the whatsapp, facebook, hangouts, browser, email etc functions work fully.

I too agree that its over priced. But for several people since the Moto & Xiaomi invasion any phone is over priced. Check how badly people are bashing S5 Mini , Xperia T3 / T2 Ultra / C3 , HTC 816..

new to samsung phone, 23 Sep 2014I love this phone but am disappointed in that I cant switch... moreSame for every android phone, alarm won't work if phone is turned off.
Solution is to put the phone in flight mode, so no disturbance and no battery usage, exactly like if the phone was turned off.
