I believe that the latest samsung software update killed my battery. A few days after the update my battery has significantly deteriorated...ALA Apple. Why must we stand for these manufacturer changes to our phones?

If so you can do a factory reset and then download from your backup. You will then probably need to do the update again as it would appear that it was not done successfully. By the way what version did you just update to? I previously had an s6 for 2 years and it was excellent.

                            No iphone or phablet can compete with s6. Such a great compact experience, including infrared port. Battery is easy to replace.

                                NOT worth buying it!

                                After a Software Update:

                                1.Battery life is PATHETIC!

                                2.We cannot access our files in the Mobile via Computer, which previously had access.

                                3.Fast Charging is No more. And it takes 5 hrs to charge fully, that too if Mobile is OFF. If we ON the Mobile before charging reaches 40%, it drains very fast.

                                4.Phone becoming heat, ALL which previously wasnt there.

                                The primary purpose of using a Mobile is to Receive or Dial a Call. If that was the only purpose, then we dont have to choose something like Samsung S6, instead there are MANY cheaper Mobiles, whose Battery last more than 3 days and whose datas are not stolen by any Google or Samsung or FB or Whatsapp or any other companies/ medias.

                                We use these kind of Mobiles for using Internet & for its speed mainly. But, now a days, if the Internet is ON, within 1-hr, the Mobile Battery drains and the Mobile is gone OFF.

                                Imagine:
                                you want to use a Map to navigating to an unknown place and the Battery drains super fast and you end up in the half way
                                Or even you want to watch a training video in Youtube & with in 1-hr, it is OFF
                                Or you had an important call conference or video chat & the Bloody Mobile is OFF on the half way and imagine the situation after going OFF and
                                Now, you wanted to Charge the mobile URGENTLY, as You expect some important calls like any verification or customer calls & the hell dont get charged! It takes half an hour to just charge INITIAL 5-10% only. If you ON the mobile during this 10%, it directly jumps to 3% and if u get into the Dialler pad re-jumps to 1%. As you click Dial button, a logo appears with Blue colour text 'SAMSUNG' with a Black Background.

                                When we purchase a product, we always evaluate its Brand Facility (like ability of accessing our files in Mobile via Computer, unlike Apple Brand), Product Facility (use of Internet, Battery life & the Mobile phone Durability as it was a High-end Phone). We believe that these facilities can be used till the end of that product. Only after satisfying these conditions, we pay our hard earned money to buy this product.

                                A BRAND becomes a Brand when their Promisories are maintained till the end of its use. Facts being the above, one fine morning how can they change these facilities to NIL for EXISTING USERS who had paid believing these previous facilities?

                                So, forget about Samsung S6.

                                (I am a Samsung S6 user for 1 and half years and am NOT a heavy user)

What you can do is go to battery into power saving and optimized; that will make your apps go to sleep. so, it doesn't run in the background.

                                    In early 2018 is this phone still worth to get ?
                                    In my opinion as a second phone or if you consider it a midranger and your not a heavy user then probably yes it's still holds its own amongst samsungs.You can pick an s6 up fairly cheap now even when compared to an a3 17 ,it's still much better except for battery .even against the a5 17 it still does relatively well ,it will certainly play games better and has a better rear camera and j series ,why consider with s6 is still overall better.just remember to take your fast charger with you .You still get wireless charging .samsung pay.samsung pass .blue light filter etc
                                    But moving away from samsung with Huawei. Nokia etc all bringing all out good midrangers now.if you don't want the samsung experience. Better to move on
