Sammy, 03 Mar 2015Dear Michael I am so amazed by your comments, I get out... moreLOL Sammy.

And to comfort Michael, anyway S1 is an old phone, so no wonder if it takes a bit of water that it will get into serious troubles.

I'm used to use my phones under rain being certified against water or not. If i ever get soaked like you did, i would just hold my phone under my shirt and run to some place until it stops raining or to my home...

AnonD-56991, 03 Mar 2015Waterproofing has been very helpful for me because now I do... moreI was not saying that water resistance/proof is an useless feature. Only point out that haters was saying that back when S5 was announced.

Now i think if they remove that feature from S6, they may have good reasons. Like a guy posted a few posts before me, or simply because their charging/battery tech is incompatible with water? Who knows. We aren't working for Samsung, none of us.

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2015just read what I posted, you don't need a card slot any... moreTell me one reason I would have most of my files on a cloud service with the added hassle of downloading what I need and worrying about having an Internet connection when like I do now I have my files on card for instant access and on various cloud services.
Why should I choose to compromise when it's possible to have everything I need?
I mean not a freaking iPhone owner here so I shouldn't need to be finding solutions to problems that shouldn't exist.

AnonD-56991, 03 Mar 2015Maybe you don't leave your house much but more than once I'... moreDear Michael
I am so amazed by your comments,
I get out, and I ware a right gear, you live in Britain and you seriously don't know the weather is so unpredictable and carry a umbrella or right clothing?
beside are you telling me you rather get soaked into water from top to bottom but you feel good that your phone is Ok? but not you and your clothing?

what is the chance of that to happen?
I live in UK, what you described never ever happen to me, because I don't walk in the rain till I soak, specially if I don't have a right clothing's,

it would be enough time to take cover, always and with that none of the Samsung phones do get damage, they are all water resistance including S6, but Samsung never put that under the feature, because they can be sued.

so hope you stick with your s5, which is a great phone still!
                good luck

AnonD-227534, 03 Mar 2015people whose just buying latest phones and dont see specifi... moreYour reasons are perfectly understandable and like some of us are saying, there are other ways around for what is being held against S6's.

But the picture is now bigger and this is what people should understand here in opinions section.

Like some other sites and comments are talking about :

Samsung needed to react in a different way for their new flagship.
As you all know, their profits are declining faster and faster for many reasons. Competition is getting stiffer by the day with all those chinese incomers on international market. HTC, LG and Sony are not the only competitors anymore for android.
Apple keeps selling like hotcakes and raising its profits whatever object they release.

                    Just all, ask yourself why?

Not due to highly customisable phone, but thanks to a piece of simplicity, working, fast and nice to show off phone.
As some people are saying, Samsung is trying to get iphone users. And Samsung is right. These users are the ones to conquer now, not the old android users base who wont spend 700$ on a flagship on release date (for 80% of them probably) but still wants everything and more for less (ex: Xiaomi/One+ buyers).
Just read the comments of people saying, "phone is overpriced!" "i'll get one when prices will drop after 4 months" etc.. Iphone users just lineup weeks before release, not 4 months later.

If they can rally those new users with the ones existing who don't have any problems with simple details as FM Radio, microsd or removable battery, they will earn big respect and more sales, so more profits (or at least the one they have lost over the years).
Look at hollywood stars, high class people, movies etc.. 80% of them are using iphones. No brainer.

I just dont get it, 2 of Samsung killer features were the removeable battery and the Mini SD Card!? If I wanted this I would buy an iPhone but I don't want a phone that the battery will die before my 24 month contract is up? My phone is always in a case so I don't care about the glass back..So I will have to go upgrade to a S5 unless I go try a Nokia in the meantime and see if Samsung can get their heads out of the Apple designers @$$.

sammy, 03 Mar 2015do you work and sleep in the bound ? or sea? what a ridi... moreMaybe you don't leave your house much but more than once I've been caught in massively heavy rain which soaks through all of the clothes I'm wearing within a few minutes, and that was when my phone almost died and why I carry a plastic food bag in my wallet so it doesn't happen again, but with my S5 I've never had to worry.
And by the way I live in Britain if you doubt the screwed up weather we have.

milestone, 03 Mar 2015Honestly speaking galaxy S6 has improved in every aspect, I... moreThey offer up to 128gb but it will cost hundreds of dollars extra when I can get a 128gb micro SD for $100 and upgrade to 256gb in future, but on S6 people will get a model they think has enough memory then start adding apps, games, music, videos etc and realise... Oh I've got to start deleting things to make space, but with a card slot that's never an issue.

for your info, all of the galaxy ranges from S3 to S5 are fully water resistance (not water proof), and S5 is water proof, but yet still because of legal reasons and liability Samsung will never put that as one of the main features, but they are fully water resistance.

I exposes my s3 and s4 to continues splashes and rains, nothing happen whatsoever as long as they don't soak in the water they are fine.

S6 are even more robust to splashes because of uni-body.

so don't be fool by these dummy's who don't have a clue about this phone.
