Hermes Hidayat, 10 May 2015My S6 Edge has normal battery drain.and normal heating.Norm... moreYou are raising a big question here, you are perfectly right with the heating generated due to heavy usage or charging. And with forums, it's hard to distinguish whose who really have a hardware problem from whose who just aren't used to "fast phones" meaning with a fast cpu.
I mean having let's say a Snapdragon 200/400 is not the same using a phone with a Exynos or SD800+ class cpu.
Battery draining is another matter, since it's complex between software, firmware, or even user related (doesn't know how to set up his phone or its limits in daily usage). That's why i never bother with those complains. An exemple, once i had my Galaxy S1 perfectly working here in my home country, i went abroad for some vacation and i experienced real battery draining (data was off just to be sure) phone wasn't lasting a day, then i went back to home and everything went back to normal and i didn't change anything meanwhile. My guess was maybe the radio part not compatible with the country where i was..

if i han't bought it directly from Samsung like i did, i would make a complaint and request a new phone to the shop or go do what you did in a Samsung repair center (not in a phone shop).

Anonymous, 09 May 2015Sammy doesnt admit battery drain, overheating and freezing ... moreBattery draining exists on all phones. It's software (or firmware) related. And some fixes had already started to appear for S6 for those who have that problem if you follow the news.
If you had a S6, you would know that there's also a battery menu and at the bottom of it, there's a section listing anormal processes eating battery while screen is turned off. But you are busy trying to make some point because you think exchanging a brand new purchased Samsung S6 phone is impossible in case of real problems like [real] overheating especially in the legal refund period in any store.

I am surprised that some people who send their phones to the service centre took a few weeks to repair. To tell you a secret, they don't need a few weeks but only 5 days to a week maximum to repair phone. Unless their shops have too many customer already booking for repair, your phone will be the last to be repair. Like they always said, first come first serves basis. If they take too long, just go pick up your phone regardless if they are fixed or not. Chances are, they don't even touch your phone yet while busy repairing the others phone for weeks. I always make an appointment and ask them to fix it in front of my eyes. Guess what? It only took them less than 3 hours if they really focus on it under my supervision.

Anonymous, 09 May 2015Sammy doesnt admit battery drain, overheating and freezing ... moreMy S6 Edge has normal battery drain.and normal heating.Normal battery drain means 100% for 1 day of heavy use.Normal heating means if im charging it or playing games yes it does heat but it doesnt heat until 80 degrees.
Its not that Samsung doesnt wanna admit, but from lets say the total units sold, the ones who complained and did get to Samsung might be a really small percentage.most of the complains are stuck in forums.
Remember im not a Samsung fanboy.im an ALL brand fanboy.ive got BlackBerry,Asus,Motorola,Nokia,Windows,Apple,Xiaomi,Samsung,Sony,LG and i have seen worse things than most S6 Edge users have complained here.

Got the 64gb edge variant a few days back, works fine and has no freezing or extreme heat ups,but the back stays warm even during moderate usage.
I've read a bunch of owners complaining about a pink tint problem on their screens but i got one hoping that I would get a perfect phone but I had the pink tint on mine as well.
I really don't want to go through all the returning and exchanging process which could take weeks and would ruin the device more under further examination.
The indian version i got came with a sony sensor for the rear cam.
The Samsung isocell sensor on other variants is kinda similar to sony but the pics seem better in it.

I do never believe that those are "unsignificant". Sammy service center just told me that your s6 is OK and do not install many apps if you stop issues. Isnt it funny? I just want Sammy to be serious with the complaints and fix them asap.

Anonymous, 09 May 2015Two more defects are just reported. The first one is amoled... moreThere's n company which would "admit a defect" if there's nothing visible in normal conditions of use. What you are saying is not exclusive to Samsung but to all manufacturers. I work for an isp and we have same policy, we don't recall hardware because there's something unsignificant (not functionality breaker) if you do "this and that" which isn't in normal daily usage.
I don't see any of what you say on my unit during my daily usage and i don't need to maximize brightness on a white picture to look for it. There's no point unless you like to look for defects in everything.
I don't defend Samsung there, but i would ask for a another unit only if i had some permanent visible defect.

Two more defects are just reported. The first one is amoled defect but sammy denied to admit and answered no plan for remediation. For every s6 and s6 edge you can see the horizental line in the upper area of lcd when you set maximum brightneess and set background image as simple white.
And the second one is purple dot in the picture, you can see the small purple dot in the picture if you get focused. Sammy admit this purple dot defect and try to find the root cause.

Am really disappointed by choosing s6.Earlier i had s3.s4.s5.A3.all samsung but no issue for all these .But this S6 sucks.
morever u get replacement only if u hav a problem within seven days.so m out of this option too.

Knows your "customer's rights". You can always return the phone and ask for refund or change as long as you have your warranty card and receipt. This is very basic. You can always report to 'work department' if they refused. Scratches on phone cause warranty invalid as stated in term and condition(scratch is considered as damage). Please read the manual and t&c (they are given for a reason).
