The Best Features
1. 2nd Generation Fingerprint scanner is very good like the scanner in Iphone 5,6 and 6+.
2. 3GB RAM
3. The same camera of the Galaxy Note 4 is used in this phone which was regarded the best camera experience by many people.
4. 3.5mm jack placed on the bottom like the the Iphone.
5. Has Samsung's own chipset that is Exynos 7420 which is more efficient and faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810.
6. Has an upgraded resolution
7. Very good metal finish at the back instead of the band-aid like rubber finish
The Worst Features
1. Has a small battery ( 2600mAH )
2. Has 2K dislpay which will suck the battery very fast
3. Not IP58 or IP568 certified that is it is not waterproof
4. No MicroSD slot
5. Not Removable Battery

Samsung could release any shape of phone, they would be bashed at.
Now, the only thing that will calm those waves of trolls/crabs/haters will be the first weeks of sales of S6 when the news will keep coming about its success. We will see such a turnover here in comments section.

Too bad that it's so hard to get serious conversations over here and that we have to discuss same low debates over and over.
A friend asked me, so you are going to buy a S6?
I said, yes the Edge version. Did you see the announcement?
He said, no, only prices but damn you are such a fanboy.
I only said, well, look at phone videos and come again or come to see it next month at home.
(he owns a Nexus 4) Some people would just talk for trashing without even getting themselves informed.

s clasa, 04 Mar 2015What about apple copying the antenna design from HTC one m7... moreIf you took your time to read a few pages, you would have noticed that i intend to buy an Edge and that i'm only defending it against lame cheap accusations of copying.
It's an industry, it's not a school, so everything is permitted to sell the most, what many people don't get here. I don't care who copied what from who, as long as it gets the job perfectly done. Just like cars or TV.
I agree Edge is unique and like Savor is saying, Samsung is bringing the future right next month despite all those narrow minded people asking for a removable battery+radio FM+microSD card+IP67+premium build+lower price.
As i said on S6 page, guess what? Samsung got probably fed up with of all those people being cheap and not buying a costly R&D product like they wanted, so now they are aiming at higher classes : apple users.
Simplicity, design, speed, premium build for S6.

I like those edges, and for those who don't there's a regular S6. They are truly innovative. And I personally don't use SD cards at all on my 8GB S3 Mini, I find 50GB on Dropbox an 15GB on Google Drive enough. Also I never had a problem with my battery and I don't replace it. For this year I was thinking to change my phone and get an M9 or G4, and I hated TouchWiz but this phone is great. Does anyone know is there an IR blaster on S6 Edge?

[quote] Samsung is not just a phone
manufacturer. They make tons of money and they take chances, and some things work where others don't. Samsung is a true visionary of a company, and they aren't afraid to put their money on the line to try out new ideas. They probably spend more money in a month on R&D than Apple does in a year, because they are true innovators, never stopping trying out new things, even having the balls to put their ideas in actual products instead of applying for patents, then suing other companies that actually build things. People don't realize that without Samsung Mobile, the iPhone would still be 3.5 inches and running on 3G because "no one really needs high speed data or a bigger screen".
[end quote]
Other than TouchID which wasn't the first fingerprint scanner on a phone btw thanks to Motorola Atrix, I don't think Apple has really innovated in hardware since 2007. The newer features is based on proprietary software and generally rehashed of older ideas. AirDrop is a copycat of Android Beam and iMessages is a copycat of BBM. Samsung was forward-thinking with the Note 1 and could be forward-thinking with the S6 edge.
It is thinking outside the box and getting out of your own comfort zone instead of playing it safe, rehashing old features, calling them new, and then suing others who actually take more chances than they do. We would still be stuck with toy-like sized phones made for kids if it weren't for those Hummer phones Steve Jobs kept dissing about. But wait when iPhones have their own three-sided display supplied by Sharp or LG... Revolutionary. Magical. Forward-thinking. Best iPhone they ever made. Cha-ching! More money in the bank refining an older idea from a rival company. Apple will refine it but it is like tracing a drawing or paraphrasing an original idea.

2010 - Dell Streak (5 inches)
2011 - Samsung Galaxy Note (5.3 inches)
^^ Ahead of their time in screen sizes, but both had huge bezels and large footprints
Present - All smartphones have screens that range from 4.7-6 inches.
2015 - Samsung Galaxy S6 edge
Setting another display trend...?
Look at Apple's recent record-breaking success and toppling Samsung at #1 in marketshare. They broke records just by increasing the screen sizes. They should be grateful to Dell and Samsung for leading the way and being ahead of their time! Without those Hummer phones, we would still be stuck squinting while viewing content at our 3.5-4 inch screens, texting slower, and smaller/weaker battery with our toy-like sized phones made for little girls and preteens!
I prefer HTC, but Samsung hit the ball out of the ballpark recently. How can any other company top them? G4, Z4, Mi 5, 6s/6s+, Moto X, Nexus, etc. Yes, we will get new hardware but how different will they really be from last year? The only company that could top Samsung is Samsung with the Note 5 edge (or Note edge 2) or whatever they want to call it. There is ZERO phones right now with a dual-edged display. Zero. This is a first of its kind. This S6 edge is a glimpse on what future smartphones will look like just like Note 1 set the trend for larger displays.
I will start to laugh when a certain popular fruit company will copy the screen design, pretend they invented it, call it revolutionary, and laugh all the way to bank from their ignorant iSheep who are both BLIND and HYPOCRITICAL with their arguments. The real innovators and risk-takers is really Samsung. They THINK DIFFERENT. They take chances. They are willing to get out of their comfort zone. Innovation hasn't come from Apple since 2007.

the s6 edge is a useless device.one can can do everything on a normal screen faster n better than fumbling on a idiotic edge like display.imagine the following situation-someone buys a s6 edge..a bit careless..the s6edge slips out of his hand and lands bang on the edge..what happened next??a heart wrenching wail......... smartphones have a metal or plastic sides for a reason...isnt it??otherwise we can have a phone thats all screen except the back.

S6 edge is like the prototype and sneak peek of smartphone design for the next five years...
Just like the Dell Streak from 2010 and first gen Samsung Galaxy Note from 2011 made 5-5.3 inch screens more normal to people. Their screen sizes were a sneak peek for phones during the last 3-4 years. Both were ahead of their time...
It all depends how well Samsung and app developers can utilize those sides and prevent the edge from becoming just a novelty. We are in its infancy right now with Samsung just scratching the surface to its potential. Some of the negative or skepticism we are feeling right now is no different than how some of us felt about phones with larger than 3.5-4 inch screens just 4-5 years ago.
It is hard to see the future but I feel Samsung gave us another tiny glimpse of it with the S6 edge display for the rest of the decade...
