NO infrared/IR-blaster/irda!???
S4 had it. It was new feature and I used it rarely.
S5 had it and I used it more often.
S6 has it and I use it every day.
After S4, S5, S6 I am used to using infrared interface and now Samsung removes it!?Seriously?
If S8 will not have infrared interface then I must look for HTC's, LG's, Sony, Lenovo etc flagships.

You win some you lose some. Hush. They brought back features that many persons complained about but took away another great fearure in the process, the IR remote control.
I have a S5 and it's working quite fine plus I do find the IR remote to be handy so I too am sticking to my S5 and if it should stop working...who knows maybe I will get another S5.

This will result better image due to the entry of more light but the zoom quality may decrease

Does this phone really lack an Infrared Port??? I Compared it with S7 Edge and it said on both phones that it didn't have an Infrared Port. Some of you might find it unnecessary but i really like that option. Real shame if it doesn't have one.

jack, 22 Feb 2016hi i want to buy note 5 but now idont know wait for s7 or no?it depends, if you want the note's spen functionality and a cheaper price, i will go for the note 5. if you want the new features, waterproofing, and better camera but you have to pay a bit more, go for the s7

Why, why, whyyyyyyyy did the remove the IR port? I have all the remote controls in my house on my S4 mini. I would have upgraded to S7 but I see it doesn`t have an IR port anymore so...no more upgrading.
